Brilliant captaincy, good bowling from Jordan to pick up a couple early on. If only he could learn to run.

Into the tail. Gavaskar starts his stint on TMS. I suspect he and Dravid would still put up a better performance with the willow.

Not looking forward to the Oz summer at all, I have tickets to day 2 in Sydney but fear it could be all over by lunch.

BTW your cracks are still there but the opposition don't have the ability to rip them open.

Roll on "Ashes The Return" when all will be revealed

Would Chef force the Indians to follow-on and bat again?

Bit difficult when India have batted first.

Well played the English bowlers. India don't look interested. Will Dhoni come out swinging after lunch?

Six!!! with only 44 on the board. Binny really didn't stand a chance.

Will India get to 100?

8 down for 79

India really don't seem interested. Good bowling from England. I'm tempted to go on Saturday and pick up a ticket from a tout. Anyone else got tickets?

Dohni is a class act. How he must wish for a Laxman or Dravid to join him at the crease.

I suspect that they'll be far happier with a ball that isn't swinging. I still think you'll thrash them but they'll show a bit more backbone.

and did those feet. ...among those dark satanic mills?

Can Robson play himself into some form.

Can Cook score a ton. Will the Indians find out how to bowl?

England to be 260 ahead by the close, hopefully having only lost four wickets, though I suspect it will be closer to eight.

Suggest that's the last we see of Robson in the test side for the time being. To get this team going in the right direction we need a solid opening pair.

Not sure why he was kept on for the last two tests. Carberry could be there, but for the egos of the management and captain, which seem to take priority.
I wouldn't mind seeing Carberry coming back in but I reckon he's the wrong side of 30 for the current set up.

I'd like to see Hales get a go in test side.
