.. Rory seems to have got his head back together (touch wood!). 17th... 458 yards... Drive and a little 50 yard pitch
My mrs works in west Kirby and she text me this morning to say she saw Tiger Woods in the local morrisons picking up a few packets of space raiders,a curry pot noodle and a packet of extras. I wish I hadn't told everyone in work..
lying b*tch
We really should go,being just down the road in heswall, but couldn't get the time off work during the week. Weather is meant to be cr*p tomorrow so maybe sunday..fingers crossed we'll bother to make the effort!!!

Been to the BMW at Wentworth a few times, but watching golf 'live' is an anticlimax for me. Just don't get to see enough of the action unfold. I'd rather just watch them hit balls on the range... the way they hot the ball... the noise when the club head makes contact... the all flight... it's another game entirely.

I know... it looks like golf, but it's not golf I'm familiar with... 400 yard+ drives, even on a hard links course is a bit WTF?

Went for the 1st time today, You definitely see it better on the TV but for the spectacle and atmosphere it was excellent...my favourite moment was watching John Daly blast a ball 6" above a group of 50+ spectators on the 18th,some proper girly screams and 20 people hit the deck Been to the BMW at Wentworth a few times, but watching golf 'live' is an anticlimax for me. Living in Hoylake I had to geg in and managed to get a stewarding job. Free entry all week and a min wage packet at the end!
It's been great so far weather wise but today is going to turn. I'm on shift when the thunderstorm hits and all the corporates are pissed as farts! :-/
Hope you are enjoying it mate! Bet the beard's starting to smell a bit mouldy now with all this rain. It's been great so far weather wise but today is going to turn. I'm on shift when the thunderstorm hits and all the corporates are pissed as farts! :-/
Looks like most of the rain will actually pass up to the East between Birm and Mancs, so no panic. Having said that nice to see them all on the course just in case, they all get the same conditions.
Greens now very receptive. Although we always like it punishing maybe this will produce a grandstand finish tomorrow, no professional can complain about the course today, getting very receptive to strut their stuff. So strut it.
Weather has been good this year, 4 seasons in one weekend.

Just one observation to make.
I overheard two blokes sitting in front of me in the grandstand discussing why is it that the American golfers always have to spit, they particularly mentioned Zach Johnson 'gobbing' on the tee in front of us--I hadn't seen this as only just arrived at the grandstand.
But it did remind me, I seem to remember the much lauded 'Tiger' was a veritable waterer of the course. Also many others, usually our USA cousins.
A number of the Americans chew tobacco resulting in the excess spitting. Not pleasant but taken as normal over there.I overheard two blokes sitting in front of me in the grandstand discussing why is it that the American golfers always have to spit, they particularly mentioned Zach Johnson 'gobbing' on the tee in front of us--I hadn't seen this as only just arrived at the grandstand.

Also saw that on the BBC tweets this morning that quite a few people were complaining about the spitting from him, and after having watched today on the TV it was a virtual gobfest from him--not a trace of 'baccy' chewing that I could see.
The constant drone of that bloody light aircraft in my earphones is driving me spare. Just heard Alliss say it's messing up the feed for one of the big US TV companies.
Does anyone else think Tiger Woods is just far too muscly for his own good? His neck and lats look like he's pumping out hundreds of pulldowns a day, that can't be good for his mobility in the swing. He's mistting so many shots.
