Braces Clay Shoot tomorrow.

Apart from a stag do ten years ago, my first shoot. I'll be joining the complete beginners group tomorrow.
Any tips please? When I asked on the phone they said not to worry, just turn up but I don't want to turn up and make a chump of myself (per usual).
Given the weather forecast, I'll be wearing waterproofs and walking boots and maybe a baseball cap to keep rain off my face/eyes.
Would I be better wearing contact lenses or spectacles?

Any advice gratefully received.

I don't wear glasses but if I did I'd go for contacts because you might have to wear safety glasses over the top. Have fun and don't point the gun at anything you don't want to shoot!

And don't forget to relax... and take any advice given! Loose fitting coat a must, too, and don't waer one of the ones with the polo neck type high collars, it'll get in the way.

Oops, just seen you'd have done it already... ignore me, sorry!

Keep both your eyes open. Closing one eye is for static target practise. You need both eyes open for moving targets otherwise you lose depth perception.

Don't point the gun at anyone....

Thanks chaps, all good advice. Really enjoyed it, though it was a bit windy and blustery! Probably hit 25 of the 50 clays on offer, not great but not bad.
Will definitely go again.
