Evening all.

I'm currently having to think a lot more about my heart, but I want to remain active. So a heart monitor watch would make sense.... I'm a bit of a Nike we, and also a bit of a design junkie, so wearable tech works for me.

Questions would include: GPS. Worth it? Anyone have any first hand accounts of their kit? Battery life - any rechargeable bits out there?

Many thanks in advance for your time (no pun intended), ladies and gentlemen.

I have the Nike+ GPS Sport Watch. It's a very nice bit of kit, comfortable and has decent battery life. Heart rate monitoring has to be done via an additional Polar sensor which is around £60. It's a great running watch but I guess rather featureless if you want a watch that monitors general health. Have you looked at the new Apple Watch?

Thanks for that. The Apple watch does appeal, but I tend to use my watches quite hard, and I'm not really an early adopter....

Shame that the Nike is a two piece. I'm thinking an all-in-one would be best for me... Especially if I'm having to wear it generally.

I had the Nike+ watch and found it a little basic. I now have a Motoactv but it has been discontinued and can only be found 2nd hand.

IIRC built in HRMs aren't reliable and a separate one is the way to go.
