McIlroy looks like hes fked for the Open then.
What an absolute bell-end! Play football in the off season, not in the middle of summer and in between majors!I bet his sponsors are well happy....
EA Sports DELAYED PGA Tour 15 till the Open so he could launch it whilst he was there.
Those are two of his biggest sponsors. The watch companies probably are not as visable tbh. But those two will not be happy.
Tiger/Molinari/Casey/Fleetwood the biggest Swoosh names at the open, I don't see any of them challenging for it (Famous last words there)
Fiver on Rose as always.

With Rory's crock & Nike, they'd be covered by various insurances against accidental injuries as long as he wasn't participating in another professional sport or an extreme sport (skiing etc). So i dare say they won't be too worried about loss of coverage. EA however is probably a different kettle of fish. I dare say he'll have obligations to fill for them and will still attend the Open in some capacity? Watch me be completely wrong about both!
I played 18 yesterday, the first since my lesson and it's associated changes to my swing.
In short I played very well. I could have putted better (4 3-putts) but I hit my irons and hybrid far better and more consistently (if a little shorter) than ever before.
Ahead of the round I was very worried about my driving after my session on the range had showed a massive reduction in my ability to control face but apart from 2 skyers (I still it down too much), I hit 70% of fairways and had GPS verified drives of 292 (slightly uphill), 296 and a whopping 336 (hill assisted). I think it just clicked as soon as I was on the first tee.
All in all very pleased and already looking forward to 9 holes tomorrow. Lessons work.

Also anyone see Streb holing 5 birdies having to putt the back 9 with his wedge after he broke his putter.
Got some new sticks on order for the first time in 8 years or so! Gone for TM R15 460 TP driver with a Diamana Whiteboard, TM Aeroburner TP 3 wood with a Diamana Whiteboard tipped 1/2 inch, TM RSI TP Irons 3-9 de-lofted 1.5 degrees and 4 of the TM R series wedges! Just need a new putter now for a complete new bag!
Anyone else got new clubs incoming?

TaylorMade fan?Anyone else got new clubs incoming?
I have nothing incoming but I currently can't seem to hit my 3-wood well at all and was wondering about a 17 deg hybrid to replace it. I just need something to fill the gap between my 21 deg hybrid (200 carry) and my Driver (around 250-300) something around 230 yards would be fine.
Having said that, £55 on another lesson will probably avoid the need to spend £100+ on a club.

Yeah do like TM clubs, will be strange to have a complete new set to get to grips with tho! I used to have a 16 degree hybrid which filled the gap nicely! Couldn't stop hitting it left though I have nothing incoming but I currently can't seem to hit my 3-wood well at all and was wondering about a 17 deg hybrid to replace it. 55 quid for a lesson???? How is Mr Harmon these days? :-) I have nothing incoming but I currently can't seem to hit my 3-wood well at all and was wondering about a 17 deg hybrid to replace it. That's probably the way forwards though as my only suggestions for that gap are a 3 wood or a 1 iron.
Spent the afternoon at the French Open yesterday. The Albatross course which will be the venue for the 2018 Ryder Cup was in good form punishing any players who even slightly deviated from the straight and narrow. Watching Kymer and Dubuisson try to chew off too much and ending up with their second shots in the water at the 18th reminded me of my game. Except I had taken 3 shots to get near the water.

I would be looking at a 4 wood (17 degrees) if you cant hit a 3 wood (assume you mean you can't get it to launch?)
It's not a launch problem, I launch my 8.5 degree driver no problem. I'm not sure what the problem actually is but I just can't seem to hit it from the fairway with any consistency, whereas my hybrid is one of my most consistent clubs.£55 does sound a lot for a lesson but when you look at the technology used and the experience of the pro using, you can see where the money goes. And it's still cheaper than a new club.

£60 an hour at my club! That's probably the way forwards though as my only suggestions for that gap are a 3 wood or a 1 iron.
I pay 65 quid for a 1 hour lesson. Saying that the technology and improvement in my game its well worth it. Not to mention the ridiculous service im getting thanks to his sponsorship deals. 10weeks for my irons now and I've been well compensated.

10 weeks?? I'd be wanting them for free if i had to wait that long! That's outrageous! I pay 65 quid for a 1 hour lesson. Saying that the technology and improvement in my game its well worth it. I don't want to broadcast the value of gear ive had as compensation. Its just shy of the value of the clubs. So I cant really complain. Ive even been emailed by the UK rep to say sorry. bodhi said:
Which Vapor irons did you go for out of interest? The Combos?
Vapor Speed. The Combos would have been a vanity purchase as both clubs produced the same results for me. My Bag will be
TM Aero Burner 9.5
Vapor Speed 4-PW
Engage square 52
Engage Square 58
Jaxx 60
Method 001
I will be adding clubs between the Driver and 4i when my funds are healthier.

Don't blame you. And if that's the case then that's fair enough. At least they've had the good sense to compensate you properly! Have they given you an ETA for the clubs? Bet you're itching to use them!Gassing Station | Sports | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
