Jason Day - why on earth would you leave a putt short of the hole? On the 18th. In the Open. For a playoff?

John stones caddy placed the ball for him at the 17th green. Is that allowed?

I saw that. I'm assuming he placed it near his marker for Johnson to re-place his ball.

When Johnson mended that old hole he then tapped down another part of the green closer to the hole. Very dubious IMHO

I thought that the senior rules official only gave him permission for the first one, and whether he went over the second or not makes no difference.

A worthy winner but a poor Open with a very poor finish.

A worthy champion I think, although St Andrews is too soft nowadays and needs a new approach to make it Open worthy in 5 years time.

So what on earth happened to DJ? Looked nailed on for a top 5 at least and then just disappeared after round 2. Mentally he is quite flaky.
