I hit 120 balls today, striking it well for the most part.

I also tried a new way of practicing that I just invented.

Pretend you're playing a 700odd yard par 6

Hit driver/3 wood
Hit long iron/hybrid
Hit mid iron
Hit short iron/wedge

You can only move onto the next shot when you hit target with your previous, the idea is to hit the green in reg (four shots)

You can vary the targets and clubs as you like.

Certainly added a pressure factor and made it more fun whilst still making sure the whole bag gets a workout.

They're the best type of rounds..Come off the course feeling chuffed you've played well, but knowing you've left a few shots out there...keeps you coming back for more everytime! 30 putts is a good effort too! I'd kill for 30 putts every round!

Yeah - I could have had 46 points easily when you consider the 2 blobs!

Putted really well - got up and down 3 or 4 times as well. Chipping is pretty st hot at the moment. You can save so many shot if you can chip consistently.

Amazing how much a bit of confidence can change your short-game!

Sure is, so confident around the green at the moment.

The birdie was great - hit a nice drive but unfortunately rolled into a fairway bunker.

Had a lovely lie so thought I'd go for it - 135 yards. Picked it off the top beautifully with my wedge and ended up 8 feet from the pin - sunk the putt! Great start to the round!

Got to love starting with a birdie! Talk about starting on the right foot! I usually end up with a nice cold double to start. Last round i had started Tripple, then a 5 over, then a double. To finish the next 15 in 11 over was an achievement considering how P***** off i was!

At least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask.

hehe

I've been playing to 17 fairly - thought I'd won with 37 the other week but someone came in with 40 and 41.

Need to start practicing more now - next goal is 13!

Went to the range today. Really pleased with my striking with all irons. Shame about the driver. Incredibly inconsistent. Hit it straight with a slight draw one shot, huge push the next, that followed by a pull. So frustrating as the length is there but the misses are 100 yards apart. Really need to get back to being at the range once a week. Playing once a month to 12 is almost impossible!

I thought so too but I played with a guy last Saturday who only plays three times a year to keep his handicap and he shot 10-12 over.
