I'm playing at The Berkshire on Sunday, anyone played there?

Certainly looks nice.
That course looks lovely, with some pretty small greens by the look of it! Appears to have plenty of trees too, so based on that, I'd be hitting irons off almost every tee! Unless you're very consistent/controlled/straight with your Driver/3 Wood?
It wasn't as hard as I expected actually. It's quite long off the white's though, some of the par 4's are very tough if you don't get a good drive away.

I played pretty well overall but I was getting very steep and fatted a few iron shots and my most consistent club of late, the driver, didn't go nearly as well as it has been. Made up for it with short-game and putting though.

One day all parts of my game will be good during the same round...one day. I hope.

I'm mainly going because of the 5 free rounds with Pentland that you get with the ticket! Not bad for £5!

Will probably end up talking myself into a new sat of bats whilst there!

Managed not to buy any new sticks yesterday. Had a crack at the longest drive & got a respectable 272 yards (no glove, no warm up & only had 2 whacks at it) The drive of the day appeared to be 311 yards, which as you had to hit the fairway to count, was a decent effort by someone!

GARMIN S1 Golf Watch ; Has anyone had issues with condensation on the inside ?

I have had mine for a few months and it had some misting up on the inside for the first time this morning.

I have done a few searches and it seems that it can happen. Just wondered if anyone else has experience of this and is it worth returning to Garmin ( or American Golf )

Managed to get a round in yesterday. All i can say is thank god for thermals. Managed to go round in 79, which considering the putting was an absolute miracle! 39 points too!

Lovely morning yesterday, last of our winter foursomes. Great laugh! I don't mind the cold really, as long as it's dry!

Speaking of putting, I'm having a 2 hour putting analysis and custom fitting session on Saturday! Can't wait.

Well, 2015 is now nearly over as far as golf is concerned. We're now mostly playing Texas scrambles in the mud at our course. biggrin Was a good year for me...sneaked up to 15 early on the year and ended up a solid 12.0 at the end. I think most of the improvement was down to being better off the tee (ball in play for the second shot more of the time)and better decision making before each shot (getting back in play when I needed to).

Now thinking of getting a new putter and grooving it in over the winter...I'm fancying an Odyssey Versa 9 but haven't tried one yet. However, I'll keep my 20 year old Rossie II just in case!

Yep. Another year of golf nearly over.

It's been a mixed bag for me. If I look back to the first post of this thread, my goal was to get from 17 to 15 or lower. Well I've achieved that and am now playing off 15.4.

However, whilst I feel I've certainly improved in my short game and putting, I feel that I haven't really made much improvement off the tee. Last weekend was an exceptional game for me, all of my drives and 3 woods from the tee were good (some excellent) so I hope it's the start of some sustained improvement.

I'm also after a new putter, and was supposed to go last weekend for a putting analysis and custom fit session but the pro caught a stomach bug and had to postpone until the 30th. I can see myself going for the Odyssey #7 Tank but I'll wait and see!

Luckily for me our course actually plays better in the winter than the summer - the greens are so pure at the moment. I'll be playing weekly (weather dependent) throughout the winter so I should hit next season running.

Before you get a fit on a putter maybe you should try this

http://www.putterfit.co.uk/

May mate is doing this as a sideline, he has so far done 12 fittings and sold 12 putters. They are expensive, but top quality and fitted to you.

Obviously the fitting is free if you buy the putter!

Golf this morning was like football, a game of 2 halves.

20 points out and 7 back.

Very frustrating

Did you have those "Mmmm, I might walk in with over 40 points" thoughts when you stood on the 10th tee? smile

It did cross my mind that this could be a scorcher. For some reason at the turn, putting was still on fire, driver was straight, but i could not hit anything off the fairway. woods, rescue and irons just gave up. Very frustrating.

Any of you guys in the Cheltenham/Cotswolds area?
Ive recently moved and im looking for a couple of courses to try, eventually joining.
My closest are Nounton Downs & Cleeve Hill. Ive been over to the Brickhampton & Sherdons driving range so far.

I can't help you with a club to join but I would thoroughly recommend playing Cleeve Hill near Cheltenham. It's on the top of whatever the hills are around there and the views are breathtaking, maybe one for warmer weather though. Quite a few blind tee shots which is a pain but it is a unique challenge, until I played it I had never seen anything like it.

Cheers, I live a few mins north east of Cleeve hill, so not far at all.
From what i can tell wandering around up there it needs a few rounds to get a proper feel for it.
Also a member told me its only really playable 4months of the year...sounds like the breeze could be a big factor at 330m!
Cant argue with the views though!
