Played our medal in the strongest wind I've ever played in yesterday, such good fun, was a genuine 5 club wind from the middle of the front nine onwards.
Sand everywhere by the time I'd finished, hair, eyes, ears the lot.
Yardages went out the window, had to manufacture so many different shots.
Managed to scrape it round in 78 to win best gross.

Just 9 holes this morning, rain turned to wet sleety snow so enough was enough!
Yep, must have been some of the most unpleasant conditions I've every played in today - cold wind and driving snow for most of the round. Had to play all 18 because it was the last round of the winter league. Missed out on winning the league by 1 point. My swing...taken just before christmas. Still working on a few bits, biggest thing I'm trying to work on is using 'coil' on my backswing to help control distance etc. (playing off 13...aiming for single digits for the summer). There's a bunch of older swings on that channel, feel free to look if you want to laugh at a swing! And see how far I've come since having a few lessons!
Filmed in slow motion but couldn't get it to upload as such!

That's a cracking looking swing as well! I don't really know what I'm looking at enough to give you any pointers. If anything I suppose you could possibly say that your back swing is a touch long (club goes past the target line at the top of your swing) but that's just being picky! Looks good!
As for your comment the other day, I spoke to my pro and he put me on the video screen.
Long story short, you're right, I have got a bit flat in recent weeks so he's given me a few points to work on!
Thanks for the heads up

Generally speaking, a bad hole for me is normally from a poor tee shot.
Obviously I have the odd 3 putt, duffed chip shot or st approach. But I would say 8 times out of 10 if I blob a hole it'll be from the tee shot.
However, this has definitely improved over the last 8 weeks.
If it's down to tee shots...maybe look at putting together a set pre-shot routine. I.e a set number of practice swings, then visualise the shot etc? Might help? (if you don't already do that, of course) Obviously I have the odd 3 putt, duffed chip shot or st approach. But I would say 8 times out of 10 if I blob a hole it'll be from the tee shot.

Thanks! That's something I'm aware & have tried working on...it's caused by being too quick on the back-swing which i'm struggling to put right. As for your comment the other day, I spoke to my pro and he put me on the video screen.

No problem mate! It wasn't a criticism...more of a heads up, it's so easy to get a little flat if you like seeing a 'draw' shape. I'd rather see someone swinging 'flat' than getting really steep though! Much less likely to get into trouble with a flatter swing due to the impact conditions you present etc.
Anyone have any rounds booked this week? I'm hoping the weather holds off for a round on Saturday. Roll on the summer!!

You hit some really good positions, although you overswing a little and are across the line, what really matters is where you are at P6 and impact, which is excellent.
Overswing a little, across the line which leads to in-to-out path (good for draw)
Great position, not much to do from here!
Very very good.
Nice, club path is spot on here showing a full release.
The only thing I'd mention is the slight dip of the head to start the backswing. You could try working on initiation the swing with the feel of your right shoulder moving up and behind you which might help you maintain your height?
Your swing looks good, I liked your original 28hc swing too, nice athletic move even then

Wow! Cheers! Appreciate the breakdown, never really thought to look at it like that before. Never noticed my head 'dipping' that much when i swing...so it's definitely something to work on! Appreciate all the positive feedback
I played 18 on Saturday at Richmond Park (Princes) and 9 on Sunday (Chessington).
Saturday I played very well off the tee, drove a couple of the Par 4 greens, but putted and chipped terribly. I was knifing a lot of chips with disastrous consequences. I know the chip and run 7-iron could have been the safer play in some circumstances but I treat my rounds like practice rather than to get the lowest score possible.
Sunday I played much better, couple of birdies and some very close approach shots.
Hitting the range on Tuesday to work on some of the improvements I made whilst playing (specifically around hip movement).

Too inside and shallow going back. I would work on keeping the club going straighter back from the start and hinging the club up a bit more vertical.Filmed in slow motion but couldn't get it to upload as such!

From your position at the top you may get to narrow at times and aim out to right field and flip the club over.
You strike a good ball though.

If you compare my 3 wood swing with Kentlad's driver swing, it's very very similar.

I do agree with being too shallow...and am aware i swing on quite a flat plane...the reason behind that is that I used to be massively over the top which is why i'm a lot flatter now, that was the first thing i was shown when having a couple of lessons...i'd always favour a flatter swing, i prefer hitting a draw and i really don't struggle to get the ball in the air! From your position at the top you may get to narrow at times and aim out to right field and flip the club over.

Maybe we should upload some iron swings Rosscow...pretty sure our irons wouldn't be as flat as our 3 wood & driver swings .
But again, appreciate the feedback and it's more food for thought! Love this game and the million different ways to play it!
Oh and FYI chaps - Names Andy .

Most beginners who initially slice the ball want to play the draw, then if you stick the game out long enough the draw can develop into a hook and then you realise that if you controlled the slice into a fade you might be better off.
Once you reach a certain point in your ball striking ability you need to able to work the ball both ways to truly become proficient in shot making.
I would like to see a face on view but having looked at the video again you tee the ball to low. Tee it higher and hit up on the ball with the driver, some axis tilt would also help you do this.

Nail on the head! This was me probably 2 years ago! I've had a nice enough draw going for most of the last year but I'm now having issues with the pull hook, especially with 3 wood and driver from the tee. Most beginners who initially slice the ball want to play the draw, then if you stick the game out long enough the draw can develop into a hook and then you realise that if you controlled the slice into a fade you might be better off.

Yep, agreed with the slice comment as does Rosscow. I've already gone through the 'phase' of hooking and know how to correct it when it rears it's ugly head.. I also can play a fade when i need to. This is just my opinion and what I've found personally, but I disagree with your statement RE controlling a slice into a fade. I find it a lot simpler and easier to control my swing when hitting draws/hooks. My fairways hit stats are a lot higher than when i was hitting the ball left to right. My miss off the tee is now a block to the right if i don't quite get the right strike.
I already hit up on the ball, unfortunately, I don't have my launch numbers handy. But the last time i was on a launch monitor the pro was impressed with the launch conditions i presented...Oh and I spin my driver between 2800-3100 which i'm happy with. I know it could be lower, but its better than the 5k spin i had a year ago and is going the right way!
Out of interest what handicap do you play to? You've got a pretty decent base of knowledge!
Definitely think we could do with a PH golf day if we get enough interest...i think The Belfry is calling

I play between 1 and 2 depending on the severity of my short game. Home course is very tight...

What a beautiful course! I bet it's an absolute pig to get around when the winds up.
Had a quick nose at the membership part of the website. The 'lifetime' membership is pretty intriguing, looks a great way to guarantee a clubs future.
I might add that course to the list i have of 'must plays' in Scotland that i'm planning on doing over the next few years!
