I hope not, I really dislike th guy if I'm honest!

I'd like Justin Rose to have another great season but he seems to have gone a bit quiet.

Would also like Luke Donald to find some form.

I've given up with Westwood, can't see him doing anything amazing.
Agreed, hoping for a masters win for Rory & Rose to win any of the others! I'd love to see Phil get the grand slam but i just don't see it happening...his form seems to have taken a bit of a nose dive recently. Poor old Westy, will he ever do it? Probably not. Hoping Henrick can produce at one of the majors this year. Watching him in person at the Volvo Match Play Champs was impressive, his general demeanour was excellent and he was great with the fans. Especially the kids that were there to watch him. Good to see considering there are 'characters' in the game such as Bubba who hasn't had the best press.

I'd like to see Rose win another major, I admire his approach to the game very much.

Rory to complete the career grand slam would be nice, although I quite fancy Poulter to do well at the Masters this year.

I'd like to see some of our young guns make a break through. In particular the likes of Tom Lewis and Matthew Fitzpatrick. Lewis looked like he was all set for big things when he won on the tour in the Algarve (2 years ago?) but seems to have been treading water since.

I'm also dumbfounded at how Luke Donald has gone from one of the most consistent players in the world to an also ran.

Speaking of young guns, Ben Evans has had a cracking start to the Joburg Open this morning after a fantastic tied 12th finish at the Indian Open!

Go on, my son!

Hazeltine 2016.

Davis Love it is then....

Along with 3.8 million vice captains, who will be very quick to tell him where it has gone wrong.
I have a bad feeling about Darren Clarke. I think we might lose this one.
Law of averages says we are due to lose one soon, especially in their 'backyard'

Not overly sold on DC myself, but the European team is just so much more than the Captain these days, there are so many leaders on the course when we play. That's not taking anything away from McGinley, he did a superb job by all accounts.

The 'Muricans' on the other hand put so much emphasis on the Captain these days it's crazy. At the end of the day, 12 guys still need to go out and beat the Europeans in front of them, yes the Captain can do all the prep, the team talks etc but at the end of the day the players need to go out and beat the guys we out in front if them, something that they just cannot do at the moment.

Has anyone else seen James Hahn's press conference from Riviera? I have a new favourite player from that side of the pond, such a humble individual.

Bubba, Sergio and quite a few others could learn something from his attitude, very refreshing and worth watching if you have 30 mins spare.

What a cool guy Hahn is, thanks for posting smile

Played for the 1st time this year today, infact for the first time since last summer.

Terrible. Failed to break 100 and stopped counting at that point.

The downsides to being a fair weather golfer I guess!

If I'd hit 100 I'd have been happy.

Just need to get back into the swing of things!

Played on Saturday. Absolute cracking start, was 1 under through the first 3 holes. Back to level for the 4th and 5th. Hit a few bad shots and ended the front 7 over after a triple on the 9th, not a happy bunny after the start but felt like i could still be on for a decent round. Until the wind and rain started, fell apart on the back 9 and hit an 8 and a 9 for the first time in about two years. Also managed 7 x 3 putts for the whole round. Can't wait to play again and put it right!

Had a foursomes cup competition yesterday morning. Had a pretty good front 9, 16 points, but had a st back nine and ended up with 27 points. Wind was horrendous. Ah well, always next week!

Padraig Harrington wins after 2 play-off holes!!!

Lovely guy, pleased to see him win again after all these years.

Poulter had an absolutely disastrous back 9, really. Threw it away.

Shoes.......

My current ancient Addidas classic type thingies have about given up the ghost.

Looking for a comfortable, water resistant replacement.

Anyone wearing these spikeless type things? Understand some courses have problems with them however the type of place I play I can't see this being an issue.

http://www.sportsdirect.com/adidas-adicross-lll-me...

Any other suggestions> Don't want to blow the bank so lets say sub £60?

I would not want to wear them during a round of golf at the moment when the rain starts coming down! In the summer, fine. I'd get myself a decent pair of Footjoy shoes for the winter. I have DNA's, and yes they are double the £60 but bloody brilliant. Nice enough to wear in the summer, too.

Haven't really helped, have I hehe

Felt sorry for Poulter. Getting the shanks is not nice for anyone. Must be even worse for a top pro when in contention. I remember him doing it at Augusta a few years ago when he was in contention (on the 12th IIRC). So it's haunted him before.

Yes, much better choice. Used to have a pair of those (earlier version), excellent shoe.
