Taylor Made, M1 9.5 degree, Fujikura Pro 60 gram, Stiff.
Bought my new toy...
Lower spin rate, faster club head speed, consistent launch angle and distance points. Have had the R11 for 5 years, this is a step up and on for Taylor Made.
Will be used in anger on the weekend.
Hold up - the M2 will be along shortly, best wait Bought my new toy...

Fantastic win for young Fitzpatrick at the Masters - he's going to be some player.
As for me, had an awful front 9 on Saturday morning scoring 11 points. Gave myself a talking to on the 10th tee and shot 3 over the card for the back 9 scoring 21 points, including 2 birdies (almost an eagle on the par 5 15th!).
Birdied the 18th so walked off a happy man with a not so bad 32 points.

I was braced for that being >£200 like everything else you boys buy for golf, but at £18.99 I think I'm going to have one too!
It really is a great piece of kit. For anyone that's got kids, it'll make a fun adventure for them wandering around the woods at night. If you do get one, a couple of tips from my first outing...
Think about where YOU lose balls. I guarantee you're not the only one.
Hedgerows and bushes are easier to find balls than deep rough. I found very few in thick grass.
The edges of water hazards are good too. I think people just see it's gone in the hazard and don't bother looking.
Wear gloves and a non Snaggy top, like a cheap waterproof. My hands got stung to hell and my hoody got caught everywhere.

Can't believe I've admitted that.

Well, according to the caddie, though I realise he might be biased, the Pros chose Harbourtown as their second favourite track on tour after Augusta! Make of that what you will..
Agree - French Lick looks another Pete Dye designed stunner..
So, out of interest, what handicap are you if you shot 94 around Harbourtown?Agree - French Lick looks another Pete Dye designed stunner..

Came 9th out of 39 at the weekend, thankfully sneaking into the buffer zone.
Our winter foursomes start on Sunday morning, and then I have a Sussex match at Piltdown on Sunday afternoon - going to be a busy day of golf and driving!
My neighbour and I are waiting on the draw for our winter foursomes. It'll be or first matchplay comp since joining the club. Really looking forward to it. Great fun playing with a partner and enjoying the highs of the round together, but it's tough to be consistent with your swing when you may only hit a full shot, putt or drive every other hole.

After living in the Alps for a year and not hitting a ball I've been home 2 weeks and played 4 full rounds. First 3 were hit and miss but today I matched my best ever round of 13 over. Was playing off a 17 handicap before I left but always knew I could play lower.
Only hit driver twice, 3 wood off the tee the rest of the time. Had a couple of putts lip out that would've made it even lower. Only 2 doubles on the card which was pleasing

I play off 15 now, and last week I played terribly on the front 9 coming in with 11 points, only to shoot a 3 over the card 22 points on the back 9 including 2 birdies!
It's a funny old game!

Hey guys looking for a rescue/hybrid around the £80/90 mark, found these few any thoughts ?

Well, if you want a 19 or 20 degree (3 iron equivalent) and you only need a 'lite' or regular flex, you'll be OK http://www.onlinegolf.co.uk/golf-hybrids/taylormad...

No idea how any of them play. I'd recommend a Ping G25 or G30 though.

I have TaylorMade RBZ Stage1 4 (22) and 5 (25) and RBZ Stage2 3 (19) hybrids. Great clubs IMO, and they are really easy to hit I find and launch the ball well. I have heard good things about Adams Tight Lies too. IMO, £59 for RBZ Stage 2 hybrid as in the link is a great price.
It's only any good if it's the correct club for him - i.e. shaft and loft.Skii said:
Well the Maxfli's have arrived and I'm really happy with them, must be 14 years old now and considering how easily these clubs dink (nickel cast) they are in incredibly good nick.
Can't wait to give them a try
I can't believe that a 14 year old set of irons are easier to hit or more forgiving than a modern set of cavity irons?! Can't wait to give them a try
The only benefit surely is that they were cheap? I hope you're not just looking back at them with rose tinted glasses and that they are as good as you remember them!
Morning, gents. Over the last 4 weeks I seem to have developed a bit of a hook with my 3 wood and driver off the tee.
I got a friend to video me the other morning, I appear to have got a bit flat again (something I tend to do) and the club face looks closed during the back swing.
It's not a great angle to assess things from, but you'll see what I mean. It looks to me like I have a lot of movement in the left leg as well.
Anything else you think I need to work on?! Cheers!

And I thought I had a flat swing! You've taken it to a new level there mate. Your take away looks good until you get to hip height and it looks like you've tried to almost yank the club behind you, if that makes sense? Rather than keeping it on the same path/plane all the way back.
It also looks to me as though you're hitting it out of the toe of the club which will exaggerate your hook.
Get a lesson, you'll be 'fixed' in about 10 minutes rather than having 10 different swing thoughts from us lot on here who range from 'hackers' to the odd single figure golfer.
Need to try and get myself to the range soon, having a month between rounds is getting frustrating!

Yeah, as soon as I saw the video I thought 'Christ I've got flat!'
I'll be in for a lesson soon but struggling to find the time at the minute now the evenings have gone.
Cheers
