My local course (barnham broom, norfolk) has had a March madness promotion on, so it's been £8.50 a round on either of their courses after midday recently. Very handy when I've been on a training course at work and had lots of days/afternoons off for "self study".
I have been struggling to tie a round together ever since I got back from a period away with work over Christmas and new year. I've played close to my handicap once, and under it once, but I've generally been about 5 or 6 shots over it.
I feel like it's gonna come together pretty soon though. Just need to hit my irons consistently and then not chip/putt like a pillock!

Show me a single golfer in the world that hasn't been saying that for 95% of their golfing career!!
Very true. We all say it. What I really mean is do those things well enough to get back to where I was at the back end of last year when I was shooting as low as +13. I'm a few shots off that at the moment but don't feel too far away from getting it back.
Off out again this afternoon, then probably tomorrow too.
Well, something went right today. PB by a shot of 83 (+12).
4 doubles, but none of them through bad decision making, which is quite satisfying. Just badly hit shots which I then couldn't manage to scrape a bogey from. Missed from 2ft for birdie on the 14th then 4ft on the 16th so I should have done better really!

Played 18 on Ssaturday. Was pretty windy (gusting around 20-25mph) - which made scoring a touch difficult. Still managed an 82 which meant 36 points. Just one double bogey on the card and one birdie. Just a shame about the 4x3 putts I had. Still, was around 20 shots better than my last round, in much tougher conditions. It's a funny old game!
Hi PH golfers - I'm not a golfer, but wondered if you could help.
I own a holiday home in Northern Ireland - which just happens to be <1 mile down the road from the Royal County Down golf club, where I believe the Irish Open is being held this year. One of my mates mentioned that one of his mates was looking for somewhere to stay and it's tough to find accommodation, so I'm thinking of trying to make a few quid and rent out our holiday home for a few days.
Do any of you have any ideas where would be a good place to advertise the house - I've done a quick search on the internet, and there seem to be 1,001 different places to start...
Any guidance gratefully received!

Ideally you'd find a player/player's family to take it for the week.I own a holiday home in Northern Ireland - which just happens to be <1 mile down the road from the Royal County Down golf club, where I believe the Irish Open is being held this year. Perhaps contact the club and ask for the details of the tournament promoter?
Hey Guys,
Some sad news for me, I don't think I'll be Playing much golf this year as my ankles are just not up to it
Maybe a couple of rounds in a buggy (not the same) for fun.
Anyway, I played last week and tried out Golfshot. I really like it and would recommend it to people to try
First 9 was using my mates putter (left mine in the car!) and was rusty having not played since early November!

Sorry to hear about your ankles
Your putting definitely improved when you got back to your own putter! Which course was this?
Do you actually use a 1 iron?

Yeah I love my 1 iron, wouldn't know whay to do without it.
The fairways hit is a bit harsh tbh as the course is very tight but then has a wide expanse of first cut either side of the fairway.
My putting improved for sure, my friend has a 2 ball which is brilliant, but couldn't be more different to my 8802
Golfshot is excellent and free! Will definitely use it for future rounds.
Golf course is The Bedford (in Bedford). Quite a nice little course, with good greens.

Given how unfashionable they now are, £20-40 should find you any number of Ping or Mizuno 1,2,3 irons on eBay.
