Jimmy Walker to be leading after Day 1
Jason Day each way overall.

Am thinking I should pop a few £'s on Justin Rose also.....

Get your own. £10 on gumtree if you are not sure you will stick it.

£100 on ebay if you are more confident you will like it.

£1000 in the pro-shop if you want to make a friend!

Just been asked to be the 4th player in a Texas scramble this Saturday

I've not played since October, yikes, I'm going to have to squeeze in a couple of holes over the next day or two to remind me what end of the club to hold, nothing worse than announcing a single figure handicap and subsequently topping it off the 1st tee. laugh

(I have done this on more than one occasion hehe)
Or your team will be on the 16th having done really well so far, but having not used any of your tee shots. Pressure's on...
hehe
We came 5th!

All 3 of my drives used by the 4th, ha!

I'm playing a two man match-play with a mate after work tonight, 6.10 tee time. How many holes do you reckon we'll get in before dark? I'm hoping for at least 9.

Well I squeezed 9 in on my own!

View from the 16th at 7pm:

And I missed this putt for eagle on 15! Doh!

Shot 74 off the back tees at Balcomie today. Much, much better and even managed to string together some decent putts - a change to addressing the putt with a slightly open stance seems to have helped. Here;s hoping this can continue as quite happy with how I am strij=king the ball now

I think I'll start getting some lessons and getting the time in on the course then! tongue out

Should I get my own clubs or use the ones provided with the Pitch and Putt?
If I was starting out again, I'd look at ping's colour chart and find a second hand set of G irons as close to my fit as possible. Eg: http://www.golfbidder.co.uk/product/587453/Ping_G1...

Pick up other second hand clubs in similar fashion.

If you find you don't like the game then you'll sell them on for not much less than you paid. If you do like it then upgrade when you feel ready.

He was very close to a couple more!

Plenty to enjoy all round in the par 3 comp tonight.

Even my mrs was enjoying it when the little blond girl grabbed Kirsty gallaghers mic and shouted "boobies"!

There's something I don't like about Nicklaus that I can't quite put my finger on. Always preferred Player when I see them on the TV together. Obviously he's amongst the greatest players of all time, but as a bloke he just grates on me. A bit like Faldo does.

I agree, never been a big fan of Nicklaus.

Par 3 comp was good fun, but my oh my it's a hundred times better for having Kirsty Gallacher on the TV! lick

loved the par 3 comp last night. Good to see Tiger back smiling and actually having fun on a golf course. Can't see him making the cut though, as soon as he gets his driver out and he misses a few fairways, I think his back will give out...

Managed exactly 9 holes in the end. Beautiful course. Round was ruined by my putting as usual but my irons were strong and my driving was at least predictable.

Don't really care who wins.

Just want 6-12 holes of Tiger's new patent disasters, followed by a catastrophic loss of cabin temperament and a stampyfoot walk-off. Hopefully punching a young fan in the face on his way into the scorer's cabin.

That'll do nicely.
So, not a Tiger fan then hehe

Will be a fascinating spectacle this weekend for sure smile

Loving the new lighter nights.

Two of us booked to T off at 5pm tonight - expect to get around 13 holes.

Did 9 on my own last Tuesday in the worst winds ever, balls were coming back towards me from the tee.

Lucky enough to play Stoke Park yesterday (1-18). Was nice weather for the front 9, but a bit wet for the back 9. A great course though. Shot 44 for the front 9, which I was buzzing with, but 50 for the back 9. Still more than happy with 94 (par 71) playing off my handicap of 25.
I played there at the end of last summer on a corporate day and was really underwhelmed. After seeing it on Goldfinger and Layer Cake I was really looking forward to playing it but it was a bit of a disappointment. Perhaps I expected too much but it was just an ok parkland course with a lot of very similar holes which other than one (par 3 7th apparently modelled on the 16th at Augusta) didn't stand out at all.

I'm glad I've played it and the clubhouse is fantastic but I wouldn't rush back (unless it was another freebie corporate day of course! biggrin)
