So how do I manage my brain?
[Twice a year] Read Dr. Bob Rotella's 'Golf is not a game of perfect'. He's a smart guy with a lot of practical wisdom.I've got "putting out of your mind" on the go at the moment.
The fact is that I read the Dr Bob books a couple of years ago and it really moved my game on by 6 strokes.
I obviously need to go bqck, re read the books and rediscover my Zen

Just noticed that Justin Rose won yesterday - top man!!! Back up to #6 in the world.
Seems like a lovely guy.
The guy is top draw, best swing in golf imo and I reckon a deffo major threat this year Seems like a lovely guy.

Seems like a nice guy all round and agree on his swing. Also got the balls to go for some more outlandish shots when he has too. Good piece on Golf WRX on him today.
They were saying on Sky Sports over the weekend that he's based himself and his family in the Bahamas which has increased his travel a little...poor bugger...Played 12 holes this morning. All over the place. I was feeling a bit tired this morning so had a can of Coke about 8.30am as a pickmeup. But I think I got a caffeine/sugar rush or something because my concentration was all over and seemed to lose all control of my body. Still managed to hit two consecutive pars on the 4th and 5th (i consider that to be excellent!) but then on the sixth I hooked into the water 3 times in a row before getting cross and grabbing my driver and slicing one out of bounds. Lost count on that hole but was definitely into double figures.
If it wasn't for all the bad shots, I'd be quite good!

Club fitting after work tonight. Already know its at least an inch to be added to most clubs.
Just the clubs to pick now. Starting with Irons, Wedges and a new putter. As the Taylormade im using is a loaner.
What clubs you looking at?Just the clubs to pick now. Starting with Irons, Wedges and a new putter. As the Taylormade im using is a loaner.
Was hoping to get a fitting myself end of May but dislocated my shoulder again last night so could be a longer wait Very annoying as I was just starting to get comfortable over the ball again since it last happened!

Personally I'd try everything you can! I had a go on Taylormade, Titleist, Mizuno, Yonex and Callaway before settling on my Ping i25's.
If you can't decide between a couple of sets then go for the one you like the look of most

For irons I wouldn't look past Ping or Mizuno. Unless I could afford some Miuras.
But then I'd probably still choose Mizunos. I have been hopelessly romanced by the engineering porn on their website.
I have promised myself a set of forged Mizuno's one day - when I'm good enough But then I'd probably still choose Mizunos. I have been hopelessly romanced by the engineering porn on their website.
Lovely irons.

There are many brands in the shop so it will be a chance to see how I feel with middling irons I guess.
I want a club im happy with at address and feels right.
I can't recommend Wilson Staff Forged Irons more. Incredible off the face and a history behind the brand that is pretty much unrivalled. Such a shame they're over looked. A lot cheaper than most too. I tried my FG Tour irons against MP54s and MP4's amongst a few other blades and forged clubs. Can honestly say the only thing that looked and felt as nice was the MP4's but they just weren't forgiving in the slightest. Like others have said, whack as many as you can. I'd personally avoid Nike irons like the plague, every time I've hit a Nike iron they've felt 'dead' off the face but that's just me. I want a club im happy with at address and feels right.

Lovely irons.
The first time you middle a Mizuno blade or muscleback, you really dont want to put it down and pick up anything else.
There is a cost - my bad shots are worse than with my Pings - but middling a Mizuno is like middling a big nail with a small hammer.
A beautifully tactile, meaty, moreish feeling.

But boy, you don't half know it when you hit a duff one! Ouch!
