I've just received another set of irons (my fourth) and a set of wedges (second) and I'm rapidly running out of excuses as to why I need four and why three are essentially the same and the other is almost identical
I'm thinking of getting this latest set re-gripped with midsize grips and wondered if anyone else had gone with the midsize and found them any better?
I actually have quite small hands but I do struggle to loosen my grip at times and holding a club with a midsize grip feels much nicer and more relaxed.

8 Weeks on and my clubs still aren't with me. Still im being comped some wedges, Which is nice as I bought 4-PW.
What did you order? And where from? 8 weeks is one hell of a long time!ManFromDelmonte said:
I played last night and absolutely sucked. Snowman on the par-5 first and things didn't get much better after that. I'm just forgetting about it and moving on.
Lesson on a launch monitor booked for Saturday.
Think positive - at least it wasn't a snowman on a par 4! Lesson on a launch monitor booked for Saturday.

I've used mid sized grips on my driver. Helps with cancelling out hooks, but if you hit a fade i'd avoid mid size. It'll only exaggerate the issue. Work on loosening your grip naturally if you can. Maybe try waggling the club in your hands so it feels 'looser'. Might help.I'm thinking of getting this latest set re-gripped with midsize grips and wondered if anyone else had gone with the midsize and found them any better?

Or for that matter a snowman and his swan...

I can understand why you say that but I was wondering whether it would help me release the club more and not fear hooking it because of the reduced head rotation.I have a pretty neutral grip and was thinking that strengthening it slightly and going with the midsize grip might work.

I got my first look at my new irons / wedges tonight and the guy wasn't lying when he said they were "as new" - it's like they've been transported directly from 2004 and now I don't want to hit them because they're just too nice and I'll never find another set!!
This is why I'm petrified of my clubs going missing/ getting stolen, as I dread to think what I'd go through trying to replace them. I could probably just about find another set of Nike Blades (but I don't fancy looking for another 1 and 2 iron), but replacing my putter from 1995 would be a nightmare - it was the one Phil Mickelson used back in the day, and I don't think I've ever used a softer putter. Can be a nightmare if the sun is at the wrong angle though....http://www.golfreview.com/cat/putters/yonex/super-...

That's a very nice looking putter!http://www.golfreview.com/cat/putters/yonex/super-...
I've actually been thinking about a more simple / classic looking putter recently...might have to get myself on eBay and see what "yonex putter" throws up...
The latest addition to the collection is another set of Mizuno MP37s and Mizuno Tour Style wedges, so the plan now is to sell the current 37s, 33s that are sat in the garage and the ltd edition 1997 Ryder Cup irons and be happy with what I've got for a while

If you can't find the Yonex it is an exact copy of the Wilson 8802, which is more available. The Wilson is nowhere near as soft however.I've actually been thinking about a more simple / classic looking putter recently...might have to get myself on eBay and see what "yonex putter" throws up...

I do like the MP blades, very similar in looks to my Nikes, and if I had any spare cash at the mo I'd consider taking the 37's off you - suspect if I bought any new clubs right now I would be shot.
I could also be seriously talked into a set of Hogan Apex's from around the turn of the century, tried a set at uni and loved them, but when I came to buy them Hogan had pulled out, and the guy who designed the Apex's ended up at Nike, where he designed these:
One try and the driving range and I was hooked, and that was 11 years ago. Before that I had new irons pretty much every season, now, I wouldn't even consider it. Especially the 1-iron, which is useful on the tee, and great for spreading butter on bacon sandwiches after 9 holes
Interestingly, Ben Hogan Golf have bought Scor Golf (who made the Scor wedges that I have).
The Scor wedges, should anyone have been interested in buying some, are now called the Ben Hogan TK15 wedges (but are essentially exactly the same!).
