I wonder if we are going to qualify for the quarter finals!? Or is this a cunning plan of relaxing against the top teams to give them a false sense of achievement and come back to win with the odds against us the all the team members betting loads with the bookies!

I agree with Botham, that has to be a dead ball surely,

Not that it matters but it would have been nice to see Taylor get his 100.

Still, it's a happy dressing room, that's all that matters everyone.

3.6. Dead ball
a) If following a Player Review request, an original decision of 'Out' is changed to 'Not Out', then the ball is still deemed to have become dead when the original decision was made (as per Law 23.1(a)(iii)). The batting side, while benefiting from the reversal of the dismissal, will not benefit from any runs that may subsequently have accrued from the delivery had the on-field umpire originally made a 'Not Out' decision, other than any No Balls penalty that could arise under 3.3

Not seen the run out. Were the stumps broken before the finger went up?

I think if not it should be a dead ball at the point of the decision.

A hat trick is nice but not so good when the Aussies are already on 340 odd
2/71 becomes 5/71 in the last three balls of the innings, time to throw a party methinks

The dead ball incident will need to be sorted in future, but consider if the umpire at the bowlers end had said not out under the same circumstances there would have been no review on that decision and the "umpires" review on the run out would have stood.

Made absolutely no difference to the result but I think the review process in this instance was correct because they were attempting to play on via the leg bye so the second decision came into play.

Are there enough Mitchells in the Aussie team?

I think there are too many Australians in the Aussie team, can't you take a few English players, give us a chance like.

Fair fks great batting from the Aussies, must be their year I think. Look a very strong side.

So who in the current England side would Australia pick? And which of our (Aus) players would we drop to let them in?

You can have Watson, if you like.
I had been thinking Haddin was fading, but his strike rate was fantastic this innings.

I think England scored 20 or so more than they would have if Australia had not slacked off a bit once the game was won.

I think the Aussie should have Alistair Cook and Jade Dernbach from us, We'll take anyone called Mitch

Ironically the dropped catch might have made the difference. Take away Finch and it would have been close.

The last ODI England Australia match was close.

No doubt England will get a hammering in the press, I think they might be better than we think currently and do a surprise, as long as they get ship shape soon. Depends on the attitude in the camp as well.

I am more than happy to be criticised for being too optimistic though. smile

Next match will be tough also

As always it should be a good one. Always get the feeling that Pakistan struggle mentally with these games. However, it's a good time for Pakistan to play India given the latter haven't won a single (non warm up) match for 3+ months. laugh

A 3am start though frown

Watching highlights, Steve Smith's catch to get rid of Jos Buttler was a beauty.
