3.6. Dead ball
a) If following a Player Review request, an original decision of 'Out' is changed to 'Not Out', then the ball is still deemed to have become dead when the original decision was made (as per Law 23.1(a)(iii)). The batting side, while benefiting from the reversal of the dismissal, will not benefit from any runs that may subsequently have accrued from the delivery had the on-field umpire originally made a 'Not Out' decision, other than any No Balls penalty that could arise under 3.3
It's a pretty messy one to sort out, the LBW was given and the review requested when Taylor reached the non strikers end.a) If following a Player Review request, an original decision of 'Out' is changed to 'Not Out', then the ball is still deemed to have become dead when the original decision was made (as per Law 23.1(a)(iii)). I would have thought that a logical solution in this situation would be to rule the ball dead at the completion of the the first run as is the case of a leg bye with no shot offered because in the players minds the run was always on once the ball deflected away.
Like I said in an earlier post, the decision had no impact on the result of this game but the next time it happens and it will it could be the run that wins the game or brings on a super over.

Seems like you're arguing with yourself because nobody's saying that the result would have been different. However clearly the umpires made a complete hash of it & I'm not sure you'd be best pleased stranded on 98 n/o as a result.I would have thought that a logical solution in this situation would be to rule the ball dead at the completion of the the first run as is the case of a leg bye with no shot offered because in the players minds the run was always on once the ball deflected away.

The Umpires did make a hash of it, felt a bit for Taylor with being only 2 runs away from 3 figures, will not do the young man any harm & hopefully it will make him more determined to get to 100 next time. Hopefully after his terrific innings the selectors will push him up the order against the kiwi's next week.
I kind of fancy the Kiwi's to win this world cup.

Well done Ireland. It's sad to see how far the WIndies have fallen from the team of the 80's
I am not sure it is such a surprise anymore to lose to Ireland, they have won a few world cup games, and of course have beaten England. They are a decent outfit. Will be very interested to see how Scotland go against the Kiwi's. Have a couple of capable batsman.

Well, this is just frankly, embarrassing. We're 118-9 against the Kiwis... Okay it's swinging a bit and they've bowled better than expected, but our application has been severely lacking since the first ball. The pitch looks a belter as well... jst not good enough and as for Stuart Broad, what a wker. Pro cricketer, backing away, Southee is hardly express pace ffs.
Just come home early and save us all the embarrassment.
