I thought it had only just started when I saw the low NZ score this morning.

Vettori to save the day again. Possibly.

Looking like tough call for the kiwi's to get something out of this, shame really because they have been by far the most exciting team to watch but you never know with this great game.

I do like hearing the third umpire talking to the infield umpires for the review system, i guess we will have it here in 20 years time or so.

I'm thinking NZ reckon 300 is a very good score in a one dayer.

Can't help wondering if the intensity of the semifinal took more out of them than they realised.

Think we have to give credit through gritted teeth for the Aussie bowlers , they have been excellent.

Yep, fair point.

What are the rules with the head-hunting balls by the way? To a non-cricketer it looks like pretty cynical play (and if I hit a hockey ball at someone's head to intimidate them I'll probably be sent off) but I don't know much about cricket, is it just considered a legitimate tactic?

Over head high is a wide.

2 over-shoulder balls allowed per over.

Professional Cricket is a tough mans game, i'm sure the Kiwi's will be giving the Australians as good as they got.

Hopefully! We had them all out for 151 last time, I better cross my toes as well as my fingers.

This is one of the funniest comments I have read on a cricket thread - but very interesting. As a cricketer, you appreciate the bouncer and its use. It's an interesting perspective to hear how a non cricketer perceives short pitched, aggressive bowling.

Finch out.

Aussies one down.

Could be an interesting chase.

I can see how it would be amusing - but hey, if you don't ask questions you don't learn anything right.

Australia played very well, look like well deserved winners.

Once again the antics of people like Haddin and all mean that a sporting occasion leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

More Mike Tyson than Mohammed Ali.

I kind of fancy the Kiwi's to win this world cup.
I think its the first time in my memory that we've had a cricket team capable of actually winning anything, so I'm hoping they manage to pull it off.
Are you still confident?

Been watching the F1 GP which was a great race, as a contest this seems to be a let down. frown

New Zealand played some terrific cricket throughout the tournament, but unfortunately for them, they had their worst game at the wrong time. McCullum flopped at the biggest stage.

Surely there is the 2nd leg back in Auckland? That would only be fair. Home and away as they say in Australia !
