Ok, that's the pyjama game over for now.

When do we get to beat England again?

Congratulations, Australia.

This has definitely been one of the better World Cups, and It's a shame such an entertaining tournament had to end with such a one-sided final. The best team won, and won comfortably.

50 over cricket is a batsman's game, but it's the Aussie bowlers that have consistently been the difference between them and the rest. Starc, in particular, has bullied opposition sides at times.

With Australia so strong, and England with inexperienced batsmen, bowlers who are past their best and no proper spinner, I'm not looking forward to the Ashes...

Starc with a duke ball will be interesting. I predict carnage

Sorry to say that the final lost out to Hong Kong Sevens and the Grand Prix in this household.

They need to shorten the tournament length somehow IMO.

It was interesting to see that the NZ bowlers didn't seem to get much movement today, especially compared to the matches in NZ.
Starc got some swing, but nothing startling.
I think it was the pressure of sustained good bowling that got to them : Maxwell took a wicket with a nothing ball, just because he was a change from the quicks.

I kind of fancy the Kiwi's to win this world cup.
I think its the first time in my memory that we've had a cricket team capable of actually winning anything, so I'm hoping they manage to pull it off.

Can't forget these two legends either. I don't envy the man who has to find a replacement for Sangakkara...

When they've finished running the numbers wink.

Good work by Australia, we've seen some fantastic performances this world cup by a variety of teams and players. There have also been a few bitter pills for other teams who will now need to ask how they can find their way back.

New Zealand played some terrific cricket throughout the tournament, but unfortunately for them, they had their worst game at the wrong time.
yes

When three of the team's biggest hitters get zero between them it doesn't leave the rest of the team in a good position.

Credit to the Aussie bowlers though, they may come across as complete ass-hats but they did bowl very well.

Haddin is a bit neanderthal, but Clarke and Smith seem civil enough.
Mitch & Mitch seem typical fast bowlers : pumped up, but not nasty.
Warner is a very talented git.

Behaviour hasn't gone down that well in Aus either it would seem.

If you don't respect the sport, you shouldn't expect any respect from the sport.

Very sad.

Indeed not something I like to see. I think the on field umpires could do more.

Australia were well-deserved winners.

Perhaps it was just the time difference however I didn't enjoy this world cup much. With the exception of SA vs NZ all the knockout matches including the final were one sided.
