Quite simply one of the 2 best sports commentators in my lifetime (the other being Bill McLaren)
I don't feel sad though - he had a fantastic life doing what he loved for 84 years and it seems no one had a bad word to say about him.
He introduced new generations to cricket & I suspect, although he would have been too modest to say it himself, that he is reflecting now on a job well done.
RIP
Funny, when I heard yesterday about Richie Benaud I immediately thought about Bill McLaren. The two greats have gone. I don't feel sad though - he had a fantastic life doing what he loved for 84 years and it seems no one had a bad word to say about him.

A big part of my life has passed and I feel strangely older than I did just 2 days ago.

maybe its just an age, Coleman and David Vine, all part of the great days of sport before money ruined it.A big part of my life has passed and I feel strangely older than I did just 2 days ago.
