75 runs in 9 overs this morning. 420 lead. If the game wasn't already over at breakfast it is now.
Why are they still batting? 420 is easily enough. Especially with showers forecast through the day.el stovey said:
Kiwi batsmen didn't want to come in.
The Guardian OBO sums the final over up well.91st over: New Zealand 454-8 (Craig 58, Henry 12) Craig stands and leans towards the on-side, making room to flow six straight down the ground; that is ludicrously aesthetic. Then, after a single, Henry goes after his first ball, spinning off his feet and glancing high into the on-side, tantalising Broad who can’t quite catch up. But his eye’s in now, and he clatters six over square-leg, as Michael Holding says “I thought Brendon McCullum was a gambler”, with minor disgust. Oh, and there’s Broad, banging in a short one, and there’s Henry crunching six more! Yes! Six more! Over square-leg! And that’ll do; when, eventually, they see him waving at the window, McCullum puts England out of their misery in order to put England into their misery.

Broad this morning 3-0-42-0.
Quality.
The England bowling was all over the place this morning. If there was a plan, it was poorly executed and crap. It appears that none of them have a clue how to bowl a Yorker. Quality.
They badly need Harmison to give them some lessons.
Perhaps the new coach can knock a few heads together. Whether it's the bowlers, Captain or dozy slips, they need to sharpen up if they want to compete with Australia.

Only another 423 needed from here, we should win at about tea tomorrow.
Only if they let us bat down to 18.... We have dropped far too many catches in this match to have a chance.
Still records are there to be broken. I am sure Ian Bell will get one of his double centuries and win the match, or alternatively chase a wide one off to third slip for 7.

Indeed, it's only 2.7 an over to win the game. Foregone conclusion really. McCullum has made a big mistake declaring so early. In fact, the bookies odds are 5/1 - I'd advise everyone to pile in bigtime, it's like money in the bank.el stovey said:

According to TMS, not much actually forecast unfortunately. If only they could suspend play due to high winds.
Looks like light rain showers most of the afternoon. Tomorrow is dry but windy.hornetrider said:

Cook et al can play their natural game and not have to force things.
Will be an interesting couple of days cricket.
Come on chaps...predictions for England total in 2nd innings?
