English Cricket Summer Tests 2016 - NZ & Aus
Discussion
Great batting by both sides, but not so great bowling from NZ and England. Aus will be a great test after the Ashes.
Overall though its fantastic to see England play ODI's in the right frame of mind. Start on the front foot, and keep attacking. Nice to see them stick with the same batsman even if they don't get a score. A bit of confidence from the management does the world of good.

fair play the Kiwi's captain saying England deserved to win with that run chase. How refreshing to hear honesty in sport.
Very kind words for Steve Davies the retiring umpire too, pure class. Sat watching the end of the England innings with Mrs L remarking what a transformation had taken place. Confidence, aggression, along with great sportsmanship - what's not to like.
Unless of course you are a bowler....
Interesting article in today's Times by Michael Atherton putting the development and advances in batting against the physical and technical limits of bowling. The gist is that like horse racing, bowlers are not going to physically develop any more and are limited by tendon and ligament fragility.
The hint was that perhaps it would be necessary to relax the strict arm action rules that has neutered a number of spinners such as Saeed Ajmal, who is a shadow of his former self having had to alter the straightening of his arm.
