Looking back you have to wonder why Clarke battered first, but on TMS they said they pretty much everyone including Cook would have batted if they won the toss. Seems the rain and cloud have really helped England.

Just have to hope the sun comes out when we bat or we could be in trouble.

Rogers put out of his misery. He never looked comfortable at all, complaining about people moving around all morning. Doesn't look like he should be out there at all,
Eh? He's the only one to make a score.

Only because everyone else was atrocious. He shouldn't even be playing, he's far from ok.

Could do with Hazlewood batting to his average...

I was thinking the same, he was the only one playing a few shots and actually made some runs. According to TMS there where people moving around on the edges of the sight screen so I would complain as well. Finn at 90mph moving off the seam you want everything perfect.

How do you know he is not ok? He got the all clear from the Doctors, been batting fine in the nets. Did you give him your own medical this morning?

136.

Just enough to make it interesting.

LOL at 36.4 overs! The Aussies are so competitive we even had to beat that target set at Lords...

136 all out in 36 overs, well bowled Jimmy et al.

I hope we bat sensibly.

Well, that was all a bit unexpected. We've made a game of it, at least. Well done lads.

I think it is irrelevant if the ball swings and cuts.

My guess is Aust will bowl too short. Englands wickets all LBW, bowled and caught in the cordon - suggests short bowling isn't the thing needed here.

Good response from Jimmy after a wicketless match-best figures in an ashes test match.

I like this topsy tervy style of cricket. We will win the series 3-2 the way it's going haha.

I reckon we can go better than that smile

Same old England, never as bad or as good as we think they are. Consistently inconsistent.

Top bowling today, proper English style bowlers in the right conditions and pitch. Suspect Starc is going to be a handful here.

I think MJ would bowl short, but Starc and Hazelwood are very good full length bowlers who can swing it.

It will be interesting.

Yep, after we'll bowled for a bit.

We can also talk about batting first in England on a cloudy day...
