hehe I guess his Internet is broke! biggrin

Anderson really deserved that last wicket, absolutely fantastic bowling - four maidens off what? 7,8 overs.

Just need Stokes to get a slice of the pie too.

Unfortunate for Warner there and 77 is a very decent knock.

Quality bowling from Finn. The wicket isn't particularly a tricky seamer. He has bowled good lengths and got key wickets. Can't complain when the other side bowls decent stuff.

Indeed, the fella has been on fire all day.

Overs 8.3
Maidens 5
Runs 15
Wickets 1
Econ 1.76
Dots 46
Fours 3
Sixes 0

Utterly utterly superb stuff!
clap

Would some of you care to revisit your comments immediately post Lords? There were a few English supporters questioning whether Jimmy still had it. I believe - Yes! is the answer smile

spikey...we should have sorted ourselves out to bloody go!!! Tomorrow won't be worth it frown

So...Trent or the Oval? Its Hospitality only unless you want to risk a 5th day ticket - no chance!

£390 for Trent or £414 for the Oval... Anyone up for joining me?

I'm gutted I'm not there, but I'm away all weekend and had to tie up some lose ends today before heading off in the morning.

Any news on Anderson ? i had a side strain when i used to turn my arm & i lost nearly a whole summer.

Not good no matter what kind of treatment you get, Fingers crossed it's nothing too serious.

Doctor said earlier that Anderson's sides actually split from laughing at the Australian's batting.

Can't believe anyone would seriously drop Andersen. The man has 400+ test wickets and is our best bowler! ...
How many wickets in the last 4-6 tests?

There is no doubt he's been great. I just wonder whether he's on the wane.

(Just reading the reports that this is Bell's last chance - that doesn't even work with my three year old!).

Edited to add - I think the selectors needed to try something brave for the next test. They haven't.
Who'd be a selector eh smile Fortunately not me.

Great display by Anderson. Shame he looks hurt, but Finn's looking in decent shape and there are other bowlers we can use if need be.

Bell still needs dropping for his out yesterday, despite scoring 50 more than I thought he would. And Cook was unlucky.

The team are responsible for an extra 4pts of numbers last night. Long may it continue smile

Shame we couldn't close it out today. What is the shortest test in Ashes history...?

I'd be a selector quite happily. Jimmy was always going to come good at Edge and Trent and Ian Bell always scores runs when the national conversation reaches the point where he is told he is in the last chance saloon again.

Lythe needs to make way for Hales who I believe is the next one in the list?

McGrath mentioned the wicket and Finn together more than once today on TMS. I may have smirked.
From what I have seen in this game is that both sides have fragile batting when the bowling is tight and the ball allowed to do its job.

The next two tests could go either way depending on the discipline of the bowling.

One thing for sure is that there won't be another dry track in this series

Cricinfo suggesting it was in 19th C , there was a couple of 2 day test matches. Has say Warner skied one early on then it may have happened.
As for Lyth if England win he will get another go. His possible replacement Hales is averaging 43 so in some decent form.
