fk off you tts, Sophia Gardens is a lovely little ground. OK it's not Lord's but there's something very special about walking along the river into the ground. It's also in the heart of a vibrant capital city well used to handling large crowds with the Millennium around the corner, so it's brilliant for getting pissed after the day's play. And I'll be there on Saturday doing just that. So do one, muppets.
.
Calm down a touch, I'm sure it's in great location. But you could never call it pretty it looks like a designed by committee general purpose stadium rather than a cricket ground. Fine if you don't agree but no need to be so overly aggressive. .

Whatever, would like to see Root piling on the agony to a bowling attack worn down by a century opening stand from the skipper and 2/3 - not always coming in 3 down and sub 50.
Still at least he can do it, unlike Bell - who just folds up these days whenever the team are in a spot.
Agree though, would not be surprised if the Crims go 500+ in the innings.
It's often been the case that Bell only gets a big score when the batsmen before him have scored big. I think at one point until recentish times that he had never scored a century without someone before him scoring one. I know that's not the case now as he has done so, but still.Still at least he can do it, unlike Bell - who just folds up these days whenever the team are in a spot.

It's a shame as on his day he was immense

Onto the game, a vital recovery led by Root (what a cricketer he is now!) but we won't know what a good score is until the crims have had a dig. I rather suspect they'll get a big one on this deck. Much like last time.
Interesting small article in The Times today hornet about Glamorgan and their finances. The binding test contract nearly bankrupted them and Hugh Morris coming back at Chief Exec for the county said his first year would be ensuring full finances and that they would bid for every test they can get and do it with Welshness. He was completely affirmative that the motivation was making it a full and ongoing Test venue and to promote young Welsh talent. Proper cricket bloke is Morris and a superb administrator.

13 runs from the over.
Broad straight drive down the ground, next ball he's expecting the short ball and ducks - wears it right on the lid! The ball barely bounces off a back of middle pitch and barely gets to navel height. Broad wafts at the next ball outside off and then another shortish ball that just sits up and begs...so Broad smears it on the pull.
Tell you what, its a damn good job Gilchrist isn't around to bat on this pitch, you would be fetching them out of the Taff all day!!!
