After a three day kicking in the Media as the worst test side in recent memory that England endured after Lords, then standby Australia for the same kind of treatment after this defeat.

Honestly? The baiting is pathetic.

What next? Is your dad bigger than my dad?
Quitter. You can see where the cricketers get their poor attitude from.

Definitely worth crowing about - as a win is a win. The least st team has won this week (recall your side made 280 on a good batting track). Neither team playing great cricket - your team playing less st than ours this week.

I agree. Both England & Australia are very average Test teams. That's why it's so close.

It is because (as in Australia) the Ashes now attracts 'England fans' or 'Australia fans' and not just 'cricket fans'. Same with Aussie crowds really.

In recent years English cricket crowds are more similar to football crowds - where the detaisl of the game are immaterial. If England are doing well, the singing/chanting and so on is on overload.

I think it has certainly made attendance more entertaining when England are winning. Atmosphere is pretty muted when they're not - as you'd expect.

So close? 3 games and three crushing results. I see what you mean though - but think both sides are above average.

Normal service resumed and another great victory for England. Totally outplayed Australia in every department.

Tragic loss for England having Anderson out for the 4th test. At least as it starts on Thursday it might go on until the weekend.

Huzzah!

But my god, how hard do you have to make something when you start off blindingly well?

Might get a decider at The Oval smile

I'll tell you this, I think every match (weather dependent) is going to produce a result that isn't a draw.

Well according to those in the know, we rely on Anderson to such an extent that we may as well give 'em the next one.

Well played - not sure you 'totally outplayed' in every department though - you were rolled for 280 on a good batting track. But the scoreboard doesn't lie too much.

Roll on Nottingham.

Reel in lads biggrin

Come on johnfm...it's only joshing an Aussie when he's down.

End of the day the last test was FAR more decisive than this or Cardiff. So still something to keep the Aussie spirits up. The English team should be pleased with the result, but letting you guys get to 121 ahead from the position they were in earlier yesterday was silly.

2-1 is still where it's at though smile
