I was there on friday, atmosphere was fantastic. Edgbaston is one of the best grounds for England and England fans.

I was there as well and had a top day. Was chuffed we got to actually watch quiet alot of cricket.

I agree its a great ground to watch cricket, and all the fans got involved.

Doesn't the test start today?

Quiet in here...

Given the result last week - will the Captain winning the toss bowl first?

I expect so!

It does indeed, can't wait

I don't know, I suspect if we win the toss we will bat first. With no Jimmy we'd look to try and get a decent total I think.

Alright there?

Who knows. Whatever decision they make, regardless of how right it looks on the ground at the time, if their team is on the wrong end of the result the pundits will have hindsight turned up at full wick.

Anyway best of luck to both teams.

Seeing as Yorkshire lost GpA to Somerset yesterday at Scarborough and Durham starts tomorrow could be better.

It's a grey morning in Leicester, not too far south of Trent Bridge and it's likely to stay that way until Saturday. Had Jimmy been fit, then it's bowl first. Without him, I think it's probably a bat first, but we need to make sure we don't throw wickets away.

We’ll miss Jimmy his record here is very good and it sounds like ideal conditions for him.

I expect it will be won as per the other tests who’s batting line up implodes the least. Interested to see how the Aussies respond, a win away from reclaiming the ashes but I suspect the Aussies to be under more pressure.

I'd have stuck em in too. Overcast and a bit gloomy here this morning. Hope it swings!

Chef picks the bowlers to do the damage first. That'll be interesting now that the Crims are going heavy on batsmen.

All pundits note wicket is green and soft.

It will seam around like a bd. Aus won't bat out the day in these conditions unless they show proper, old fashioned test match discipline.

I'm sat in my office overlooking Nottingham - I can see the floodlights in the distance but unfortunately no tickets for me this year frown

I can however confirm that, in these conditions, Jimmy would be swinging it round corners today if fit.

COME ON ENGLAND!

If we bat as irresponsibility as at Edgbastion, we might eek out 220 - hard to say as I am sat in an office and all I can go by is the radio/cricinfo commentators suggesting pitch is green and soft and won't harden up until day 2-3. Clearly, I'd be happy if we mooch to 250/3 at stumps - just cannot see us showing the patience.

There will be loads of tout tickets outside the ground.

Always brave to win the toss and bowl...if you do that you really need to have them 3-4 down by lunch.

Right, given the way Test Cricket appears to be going, there will be intense dissapointment if we aren't into their tail by lunchtime.

Whisper it quietly, but it would be quite nice if we could revert to a slightly more sensible session by session contest.
