Why the fk did they allow the last wicket to drag on and add the runs they did.

Topley was obviously st scared of the ball and backing away he should have been served up some right arm quick full length bowling at the base of leg stump from around the wicket or Starc stay over to Topley and around to Rashid.

We are chasing at least 20 that we shouldn't have to

I don't think it will make much difference.

Shame that the final couldn't deliver a close finish and some more exciting cricket.

I guess the point I was making badly is that the bowlers and more importantly the captain didn't read the situation well at all and this is something that the coaching staff need to sort out.

After seeing him back away from the first ball the next should have been in the ribs from around the wicket followed by a middle & leg yorker from the same side which would have been innings over.

And yes the few extra runs shouldn't make a difference in this instance but small chases can provide some serious twists.

Topley also needs help with his hand position at release, he is not consistently behind the seam which won't give him a reliable stock ball. May be nerves but his wrist looks tight in what has been put up on the box

The point is, This Aussie side aren't the World champs, they are missing quite a few from that line up.

anyway - Well played Aus, thanks for keeping us interested by losing two. This side aren't far away, but need some nous at death bowling, and Root back in would be good too.

Somehow we have to find a better more consistent bowling attack

Broad, Anderson & Root weren't playing & we always rely on those 3.
Still, 3-2 loss against one of the best Aussie squads in the history of the game is a fantastic result. smile
