This would have been a good toss to lose. Damp day....it should be swinging.

Hmmmm relying on Root to dig us out of a hole here. If he doesn't we'll be screwed.

Where and how are watching the Pain and Pleasure that an Ashes series brings..?

I have just arrived in mainland China for a week. Currently sitting in the hotel Irish bar.

iPad, VPN hidden through Tunnelbear, using my mothers acct SkySports app. Drinking a Guiness at 7:50pm.

It's more pain than pleasure so far. Come on boys... 280 a target...

Root still thinks he's playing 50 over cricket.

Nothing wrong with that - as long he stays in and gets some runs..

Ermmm, nowhere that interesting. I'm following from an office in central London mainly via the almighty http://www.espncricinfo.com

Plus listening to TMS when i can. Fortunately, today's tube strike is all the reason i need to get home very early doors and follow the end of play more closely. Little bit of a partnership starting to form now, do i detect a hint of ship-steadying....

Bell fails again. 56 runs in his last 9 innings. If he doesn't get a score in the second innings then he needs to go back to county cricket for a bit.

Rashid should have been picked.

Jury is still out on Lyth. Part of the problem is not giving a batsman enough chances to open, it's not easy opening at any level (I used to open when I had taken my brave pills lol).

It's the first innings, not time for doom and gloom yet.

Need to stop relying on Root to dig us out of a hole though!

Been a fair session. Aus morning, England with 2 bats set fair should be looking to make the afternoon theirs, bloody limited on the wickets though now! Bell's career is looking in trouble in the near future, too often out too early with too few runs when it matters.

Am at the office, though sadly our work IP's route through Germany, so I can't get TMS on the internet radio, as content overseas is blocked.

Annoying, anyone go a good international website for TMS coverage.

Either that I or I will bring the ipad in tomorrow

I believe the technically savvy can spoof their IP via common websites.

Watson was seen warming up around this time on Monday. I think he's about to come on.

Another 50 for Root and a finely balanced match so far it seems.

Sadly all spoof sites are content blocked at work, tried to use expat shield, heck I have even tried logging in via the cricket Australia site.

... never mind will fix tomorrow
