Anybody know if any tickets are available for Friday or Saturday? Ive found myself unexpectedly available to watch the cricket - and being paid for it smile

God bless gardening leave!
I thought you'd just started a new job, been fired already?

I'd come and join you but will be at Carfest.
Turned up, had a customer project meeting two days later and announced a stop to the Programme for 4 months. £3m projected invoicing for the yr down the loo and heads looking at me asking so what do we do with this berk? Answer = quick payoff. Upside - effectively get paid a tax free month for 2 weeks work and available to watch the Ashes smile
Now have to decide if I'm going back to old job, new one in Amsterdam or some mob in Didcot want me. There is an option D in Guildford but it's less money and after two weeks commuting around south East England I would rather chew my dick off.

Given that I'm usually not even in the country for the series, I fully intend making use of the opportunity!
I've had a few incidents like that. I could make it tomorrow if you fancy giving pennies to a tout. Not been to Edgbaston in a couple of decades.

Well, seeing as you care so much, just to let you know I'm away in the wilderness from tomorrow, unlikely to be on the internet for the rest of the match.

Need to break this pair, Warner is a hothead and a relatively easy wicket so far. Rodgers a much tougher nut to crack. Bit of luck please.

Just kidding - I recall getting a bit of grief when you lot won at Cardiff.

And rightly so. You only sing when you're winning, etc

Why's Chris Rogers even playing? He's had that many big knocks in the head.

If it wasn't his last series and Australia had more depth, he'd be home by now. I hope it doesn't come back to bite them.

Bad for us - but good for Finn. Surprised Cook took Broad off so early - but Finn's done the job.

Clarke is a walking wicket, so 3 for not far away. We could be bowling today at this rate.

I assume it is the really green strip second from the end on the right. The risk now is that they prep a green seamer with life. You bowl us out for 230 and we then use those conditions to run through you for less. I just want to see us bowling at you on day 2.
That would be sensational if both sides have been bowled out in the first and the soap shy start their second innings 150 behind biggrin
I would prefer to see us bowling - so, if we win toss and bat first that means getting skittled within 90-120 overs. If the Poms bat first, I'd like them to last more than 37 overs, as I want to see us bowling at them when I am there on day 2.
Looks like you'll get your wish John wink
