as soon as i saw it i thought about that.....but, there was never gonna be a rematch so there won't be any conflict .... nice choice i think. derry was trying to show me the screw jab the other week and cited bjs as the master of it...difficult shot but when you turn your hips right and chuck in a front foot swivel a bit....fking great shot!...bjs is such a skilled operator and a lot of it you just don't see unless you look hard

We all know Callum is a bit special but this will be a big step up in class for him, Dirrel is tough as he showed against De Gale. Who ever wins sets up another big night for De Gale.

I would say that of the 2 dirrell brothers Anthony (stylistically) is the least slippery. Still a great fighter but easier to hit. And that helps callum a lot!!!...when he hits them they seem to stay hit!

Just watching degale interview on sky sports and I really hope I'm wrong and the sound of his voice is down to the nose and teeth damage from the fight....but st, he's rounding his words off and sounds a bit punchy. ..hope there's no damage from the amount of shots he's taken.

I remember similar with Evander Holyfield after the first Lewis fight...not good. That said, apparently DeGale's tooth was a falsie; he lost his real one when he was a teenager!

His mouth was a real mess after the fight. The gum shield is obviously moulded to fit and retain in your mouth on the teeth you have, once his teeth had gone even when the gum shield was in his mouth (and it wasn't for at least a couple of minutes in one round and a long time in another) it would have been rattling around and cutting into his gums and damaging his tongue.

Also that London kid way of talking always sounds semi retarded to me but he has had a long career for his age, started young and has suggested since the Jack match he has no desire to carry on for long.

so...derry just got back from scotland and popped into the gym today before flying out to los angeles tonight.....he's only sparring manny pacquiao and oscar valdez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i hope he wipes the fking floor with ohara davies the gobby little tt!!

The other interesting thing was he seems to be rekindling his working relationship with Eddie Hearn, and quite clearly raised two fingers to the advances of Floyd Mayweather. It's pretty obvious he sees his future on this side of the Atlantic again (he's explicity said he wants the O2 for his next fight) and must have his fingers and toes crossed that Smith can capture the WBC belt and Groves the WBA. If that should happen, there's two potentially massive UK fights right there, and I've little doubt Chris Eubank and/or Billy Joe Saunders will be taking a close look at WBO champion Gilberto Ramirez to see if there is an opportunity to get hold of a ticket to that little party as well!
