Funnliy enough I just came acrosse the Hamed vs Kelley fight too after watching the Eubank Jnr and Price latest fights. What a fight the Hamed one was, bit all over the place at times but a great fight every round.Hamed vs Kelley, four rounds, six knockdowns

Going back to the Eubank/Price fights and an earlier post just above does anyone know a good site that lists all upcoming fights and where they are being shown? I messed up with the Eubank/Price fights thinking they were on the weekend after they happened.

Can someone clarify something for me?
AJ is fighting Klitschko soon, for the WBA 'super' title. I thought that the super title was only given to a champion who possessed 2x regular titles. So, there's the IBF belt from AJ, so how is this fight for the super title?
On a related note, if the WBA regular champion (vacant in the heavyweight division) retains their title 5 times then they get promoted to the status of 'super champion'. So should that happen then either AJ or Klitchsko get stripped of the super belt. WTF?
I've always ignored the WBA interim, regular and super st, but as AJ is now mixed up in it I'd like to know more.
Edit- just seen that the vacant IBO belt is also up for grabs. That probably explains it.
Really don't know what your issue is. The boxing fraternity is by and large in agreement that having multiple WBA champions per division makes no sense. The WBA has taken on board that feedback and has decided it is committed to having but one champion per division. Now, due to some 'unfortunate' circumstances, the WBA currently has no heavyweight title-holders. So, in summary, they have no heavyweight champions and they want one heavyweight champion.AJ is fighting Klitschko soon, for the WBA 'super' title. Now, I ask you, if you have no champions and you want to have one champion, can you think of a more obvious or straightforward way of doing this than simply setting up fights to create two champions, then seeing if, somewhere down the road, you might be able to persuade those two champions, if they're not too busy doing anything else, to maybe, you know, possibly have a think about fighting each other so there's only one champion...???
Makes sense to me!
Essentially, Klitschko wasn't ranked by the IBF, so wasn't eligible to fight Joshua for the IBF belt alone. Similarly, as IBF champion, Joshua isn't actually ranked by the WBA (though as a champion of another organisation, would go to the head of the queue when fighting a unification). Also, it had to be the main WBA belt on the line as the other sanctioning bodies don't generally recognise the 'Regular' or 'Interim' versions for unifications. So, by allowing the WBA 'super' title to be on the line, it quite neatly tied up a number of loose ends to allow the Joshua-Klitschko fight to go ahead...

I find out about a lot of upcoming fights via boxnation on Facebook. After a bout of googling I happened upon this site:

Which (if you do) boxing related pages do people here follow on social media? I've got Gorilla Productions, Editinking, Boxing Legends TV and Boxing History. Like the pages that show old fights before my time.

Blimey, thanks for the lengthy response. My question seemed to have awoken some sort of ranting monster!
Ha! Not the first time I've vented spleen on here at the inconsistent, illogical or baffling decisions sanctioning bodies have made - though I'd say the WBA does seem to feature in these outburst notably more than the others.272BHP said:

On a totally unrelated topic I see an ancient punch drunk shell of himself in Roy Jones has just knocked out the notorious Bobby gunn in 6 one sided rounds.....you know the one, the bare knuckle world champion who has never lost a bare knuckle bout??
Well old Roy has just completely mugged him off!!
He made Roy look like his old self. . He lives to get brutally knocked out another day it seems.Well old Roy has just completely mugged him off!!
Has he ever fully explained wtf he moved to Russia for and why he's still having to do this stuff? I'd love to read his story of the last decade written down properly.
