the latest buys are as follows.......this must really be it for now!!...i'll shove pictures up when they arrive

max baer signed photo dated when he was heavyweight champ back in '34

sugar ray robinson signed photo

barney ross signed photo dated 50's

jersey joe walcott signed photo

mickey walker signed photo....

last night was all about photos rather than letters or gloves.....

i've really got to lay off for a bit now!!
Now I know you said you should stop(!) but there's a book you might be interested in...

"At The Fights" by Howard Schatz; a really, really top flight photographer used by all sorts of companies. He's done studies of dancers, athletes and others and spent 2006-12 immersing himself in boxing, trying to find out as much as he could from referees, promoters, writers and then boxers themselves, did a lot of really good stuff in studios with fighters in every weight division including Roy Jones, Hopkins, Tyson, Klitschko... and had unprecedented access at fights. The pictures are awesome. One especially grabs me is of the Jumbo Screen at Dallas football stadium with the ring and fight minuscule below it.

There's a You Tube lecture by him where he focusses on that for 10 mins or so.

Or if you're interested in something more 'vintage' there might (not sure) be a few hand made platinum prints of the iconic Ali 'Fist' photo by Thomas Hoepeker from 1966, reprinted by master printer Jack Low, left?. It is great.

Struggling to get excited for Mayweather v Berto, and I read that tickets aren't selling as hot as expected. Just such a 'meh' opponent. A fight against Khan would've generated so much more hype and excitement.

I reckon Mayweather- Paqman rematch will happen next year. Only if they put the 'politics' aside and had fought in 2008-2011ishh time.
khan fighting provodnikov in november apparently!

Easy to forget Mayweather was tied to a contract for these fights. so made sense to take a none high profile last one. As the money was gauranteed

That way we hes free from his contract and he can have a 50th and last fight , with no doubt all the money for himself. This means he can take on a high profile figther, or even a pacman rematch

Again, you're taking one side of the story (from Mr Hauser at that!) and running with it. You, me and anyone else interested in this whole saga will not have a clue what's going on until it's properly investigated. That's the only fact in all this.

As for what side of the equation I fall in to, it's neither Mayweather nor Pacquiao. I'm a fan of the sport and a huge fan of both fighters which means you'll never see me going all fanboyish on them.

As previously mentioned, if he has cheated to gain an unfair advantage I'd be disgusted.
I really think that most boxers are on something. Even Vitali got done for steroids years ago and does Wladimir's (and especially Joshua's) physique look 'natural'? Testing in boxing is a joke for a sport where you could potentially kill each other, especially when you have people like Memo Heredia hanging around (incidentally, Floyds been working with him and Marquez just as he turned into the Hulk before the fourth Pacquiao fight).

Props to Khan if he takes it but doesn't seem like a good move from a business point of view (what does Ruslan bring to the table?) and from a style point of view - Ruslan can crack and Khan will get caught at some point. Great fight for the fans but he probably fights Shane Moseley instead!

I think he'd see him as a fighter with a 'tough bd' reputation but someone he can dance around all night and potentially make look silly...similar in some respects to when he fought Luis Collazo. Plus, for all the grit and battle-hardness Provodnikov brings to the table, at the end of the day he's a weight drivision below Khan. If all goes to plan, and Khan deals with Provodnikov as he ought, he'll get a good amount of credit for it...perhaps slightly more than he actually should if you take a step back. Also that would be against the man who gave Tim Bradley one of the toughest nights of his career. So looking good against the man who gave Bradley such a rough ride might lay a path towards a shot at the WBO belt (Provdikov seems well-liked by the WBO as well and is a former champion of theirs to boot).

Anthony Joshua's starting to look nailed on for a world title, how many people were in that arena tonight? Fury vs Joshua, middle of next summer an undisputed British heavy weight world champ, how big would that be?

He needs to set up the competition first - remember, people were saying the same thing about David Price. As I said in previous posts, what did Cornish bring to the table? He was bigger and heavier, but not stronger and although having more fights, he also had not fought anyone of note.

As for Fury, let's see how he deals with a WK right hand first. If he can survive that, he can win, but I do doubt it.

2017 will be the year for Joshua.

Next year 4 or 5 fights finishing with a Heavyweight title eliminator? that's the way things usually work doesn't it? There is money to be made building up to the big fights.

To be honest though he will give anyone a good fight right now.
