I still cannot believe after reading boxing weekly that some boxing people think the whyte v Joshua fight is a 50/50 fight!

I think Joshua will knock him out inside a round if he comes to have a brawl.

If he doesn't brawl he will last another round or so.
Whilst I think AJ will win alot of people are not aware of what Whyte has done and acheived.

He was a british 2 times british kickboxing champion with a record of 21-1 and spent 5 years as the UK number 1. He also tried his had at MMA, granted he only had 1 fight but he knocked the chap out in 12 seconds. He now has a perfect 16-0 boxing record having only gone the distance 3 times.

Yes Joshua will probably win but I don't think it will be as one sided as most think. Given Whytes fighting career I think it speaks for itself the bloke can probably take a punch.

Fair points.....but if you watch their amateur fight on YouTube dillian looks pretty much the same as he fights now. Anthony Joshua looks like a different fighter now. So much more complete. The way I see it is Joshua will want to be emphatic and will give it to whyte from the first bell. I see a stoppage inside 4 rounds.....

Whyte was so easy to hit in his last fight. He will not last a round like that, not even 30 seconds!

As it is I think it'll be a 2nd round KO win for AJ. Whyte will be absolutely shocked at the fighter in front of him.

Joshua within 3 for me too, white is far to easy to hit and therein lies the problem with fighting Joshua, he hits very hard and I think I remember Paul Butlin saying he power is different level to any other heavy he has faced.

We'll see more if Whyte thinks he can win at the weigh in I reckon, I'm not convinced he has the self belief though.

Joshua needs someone like pulev next someone who can go the distance. Povetkin would be nice in a few fights time too

Although it looks like Joshua will beat Whyte there are unknowns about both of them that could throw a surprise. For example Whyte will probably land a few blows on Joshua and for all we know Joshua could be a Price Mk2.

Without know the quality of either fighters chin or their respective stamina, I'd say the chance of a Joshua victory are 80%.

what we do know about joshua is what dave whatsisname wrote on esb. dave is wladimir's camp manager and personal chef and was present for the duration of joshua's trip to austria at the back end of last year.

apparently anthony was knocked from pillar to post on the first day, and dropped on a couple of occasions........BUT he kept getting up and carrying on. by the second day he was giving a much better account of himself and earned wladimir's respect in the way he fought.

now i know sparring with headguards and 12oz gloves isn't the same as fight conditions but i find that such a display of grit and courage from him so early on in his career a really positive thing.

Any link to that report mate?

I'd be surprised if heavyweights were sparring in 12oz gloves. It'd be at least 16's I'd have thought and I'd be worrying a little if AJ is getting dropped regularly in sparring.

The positives I'd take are that he's getting back up though and doesn't appear to be at all gun shy which is what's happened with Price, and Joshua does seem to be the one who will put in the hours to clean up the reasons he's getting caught

The guy posts on east side boxing as "CHEF" I think you will be able to use the search function to isolate his posts. Interesting guy with a great insiders view to life in wlads camp.

Ref sparring....I'm not sure pal...16s are so huge they actually can be used as an aid to defence all on their own.we only ever spar in 12s as they are padded enough to take the sting out but are sized realistically so you don't end up relying on that extra size as a defence in itself

Il take a look into his posts cheers mate.

Ah right tends to be at least 14's in my gym, we're a small gym though so a bit of disparity in weigh class sometimes or gender even haha. Might have a pop at tweeting some heavyweights and see what they say out of interest though.

Isn't Fury supposed to be taller than Klitschko? They look pretty much the same in those photos.

"Fury does not regard that eventuality as likely. He told Klitschko: 'Don't do your usual jab, punch and run. Let's make it a fight. I want to feel pain. I want you to hurt me. I want broken noses and blood and bright lights behind the eyes. To be honest I don't care if you beat me as long as you do the job properly."

Quite handy that Fury doesn't care if he gets beat.

It is all very amusing, but is anyone giving Fury even a slight chance of success?

My money wouldn't be on Fury but I'll credit him this much; I think he's improved as a boxer significantly over the last 2-3 years and he has the potential to cause Klitschko problems. Fury is heavier, has a bigger reach, has relatively quick hands for a big man and though initially looked like he was just pcensoredsing about, through his last four or five contests, he's been quite deliberately working on fighting in an increasingly unorthodox fashion (e.g. fought the majority of the second Chisora match-up southpaw). I suspect that all along, he's had one eye on Klitschko and has gone about developing a style - allied to his physical attributes - that looks to prevent Klitschko from establishing that offensive groove that, once set, is almost impossible to defeat.

It will be interesting to see what happens if Fury's successful in that. My suspicion is that it could be the making of Wlad. As I've said before, I think Wlad is one of the most effective Heavyweights of all time, in that he's developed a style that is so, so difficult to counteract. And, because it is so successful, he essentially sticks to that style...why not? However, if Fury is able to nullify that, even to an extent, Wlad will have to move out of his comfort zone and perhaps take a risk or two. If he does that successfully, it will prove that he is more than just the calculating, formulaic, robotic fighter he's portrayed to be.

Having written that, I realise I'm actually now eagerly anticipating the fight! Roll on 24th October!!!

Fury is a tt but he's turning into a funny tt. I reckon he's doing a pretty decent job of pushing up the box office take.

You know this could be about Mayweather Jnr & know one has managed to get him out of his 'Groove' .
I doubt that Fury will manage to get Vlad out of his either, have to agree though that Fury has improved a lot ...but not enough imo to beat Vlad... we will soon find out , good luck to Fury though!

they tried this once before a few years back but it was disorientating to the extreme. i suppose the technology nowadays is better and live editing could trim the footage down and slow-mo it significantly so you could actually see what's happening...interesting!
