ructions!

so, the winner gets a shot at joshua's ibf belt......
I think there must be something about being in Germany that angries up the blood in young Dereck! hehe

Think Pulev would be a great fight for Joshua, but I suspect in an ideal world they'd prefer that to be an early 2017 fight (I.e. allowing for one more fight after Breazeale before mixing it with the real top tier in the division).
she's got quite a temper on her i'll give her that!!!laugh

yeah, i don't see eddie chucking him in with pulev just yet....another few fights and maybe....

Dereck really shot his load too early in his career with the spitting water in Vlads face incident and threatening to bottle shoot Haye, any pre fight scuffles and presser daftness from there is always going to fall short.
EFA. Chisora accused Haye of "glassing him", not the other way round.
and lets not forget this little performance....

Khan is saying that he lacks the power to hurt Alvarez.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/36209510

Is this self-depreciation and honesty prior to stepping into the ring? Or is it a new tactic, a mind game, trying to get Alvarez to relax his guard? Either way I can't remember the last fighter who proclaimed pre-fight that he wouldn't be able to hurt his opponent.

What time will the main Khan event likely begin? 0430ish?

It looks like it's scheduled for 5am. It depends on the previous fights but i'd say 5am +/- 20 minutes.

IMO anything boxers say prior to a fight (except for the likes of Chisora) is all tactical. Khan is probably right in saying that about his power; but he knows anything said then Alvarez will hear about it. Even talking about his game plan which accents slightly on doing a Mayweather is tactical. He will want the opponent to have a pre conception of what he is going to come out and do.

Apart from a few years in my 20's at the local ABC I'm no boxer, but one thing I do know is remaining focussed on a plan is hard either when the other opponent behaves differently that you expect or as soon as you get hit with a proper straightener.

The only way, the only way Khan is going to pull this off is based on the following:

- Alvarez underestimates him and turns up expecting to flatten him quickly; maybe not giving him enough respect.
- Khan sticks to the plan and gets on his bike for 12 rounds throwing counterpunches
- Khan doesn't get hit smile

the way i see it is this.....khan can't "do a mayweather" and pick him apart with counters on the back foot....it's just not his style...

what he CAN do is employ his speed for angled raiding tactics....which is his strong suit i feel. get in, get a blistering combo off, roll under and come out at a different angle to keep canelo off balance.

amir's tactics are more dangerous than those used by mayweather but a leopard doesn't change it's spots. the one thing virgil hunter seems to be instilling in him is that close quarters cute defence while he's in the pocket, perfect for khan's style

I just feel like the kind of concentration for the full 12 rounds required from Khan just seems beyond him.

If Khan makes it into the later rounds he can't lose, if he wins ,wow! If he gets past Rd 7-8 his standing goes up as he was not expected to still be there...good luck to him.

You would think so.

Which means the McGregor deserves massive respect should he actually be considering such a match up.

I'll fight Mayweather for £10million, Connor McGregor is in very real danger of devaluing two sports and making himself a laughing stock. His MMA record isn't even that impressive, he's got skills but he's no legend of the sport yet, by a long way.

Penis.

If Khan wins then TBE<lol> should fight him...no chance Khan is & always has been to fast with good combinations for TBE to ever consider. The much vaunted glass chin would not come into it as he rarely knocks people out, unless they are talking to one of TBE's pet referee's,so if TBE wants a real challenge in & around his weight then A.Khan fits the bill IMO.

I would fight him for 10,000 and I'm serious. Why should a fighting man be given respect for fighting another fighter? it's all about the payday when it gets to those kinds of $$$. They would not give it a second thought if the numbers add up.
