I've Just watched all the coyle/campbell build up stuff on catch up......he already sounds a bit punch drunk but fk me I love tommy coyle!!! His whole attitude is great. I still think campbell disects him in 6-8 rounds
Just thinking how strong the domestic Lightweight division is at the moment. Flanagan holding the WBO belt and Matthews with the WBA interim title, Crolla should have a belt, Mitchell finally proving he can compete at the top level and Burns showing signs there's still a bit left in the tank as well. Exciting times...Yiliterate said:

I'd like to believe you could take Thompson's word for it and it was unintentional, but who knows...
What it does do is bring into sharp focus how much damage doping can do, and not just in the most obvious way.

Really hope he can do it because he ought to be in possession of the belt right now, but just have a nagging feeling that the first fight may have been Crolla's best opportunity and the re-match might see things swinging back in Perez's favour. Home advantage might be even more important this time around...the negotiations should be interesting!Edited by Yiliterate on Thursday 30th July 11:01
"The UK's Daily Star reports that the American heavyweight, who was last seen finishing a terribly out-of-shape Odlanier Solis in February, tested positive for hydrochlorothiazide after his second drubbing of David Price back in 2013.
Yes, 2013. Why are we only hearing about this now? UK Anti Doping explains:
“The athlete instigated a lengthy legal process, including filing an appeal which he failed to progress and which was ultimately dismissed.”
In his defense, Thompson claimed that he took the drug therapeutically to treat his high blood pressure, a claim he doubled down on in a statement he gave via his attorney."
Considering the damage the defeat appears to have on Price's confidence its a bit of a blow the results are only just out.
Maybe Joshua can give him a good smacking to restore a bit of British pride.

that fking stinks that does.....hydrochlorothiazide i believe is a masking agent and that is why it's a banned substance. there must be a load of other alternatives for high blood pressure but you need to take the one that can hide steroid use??? all the more unforgivable given the downward trajectory of price's career since..in cycling etc. drug abuse gives an unfair advvantage. in boxing it could kill someone.tt.

+1Brilliant fight between Campbell and Coyle. Coyle did himself proud and gave it his all, but Campbell is a thoroughbred through and through. He was put under constant pressure for the majority of the fight but continued to look class whatever the situation, and his shot selection was just superb. What a fighter he's on the road to becoming...

The stoppage last night in the Burns fight was perhaps the weirdest thing I've seen in boxing, peculiar, there is definitely room for a domestic lightweight 6way tournament, Burns has the experience at world level, Derry and crolla too but I fancy luke Campbell is the best of the bunch.I'm not convinced on the Dillian Whyte match either, I'm sure he bangs hard but those shots looked to glance of the Brazilian bald head, its the first time ive seen him on a big telly (you tube in the phone doesn't really count) if that power is genuine maybe he and Joshua would be an even match?
