There's a video on sky sports website pal.....very wwe or whatever the wrasslin' organisation is....

It was a pointless call out by bellew but said in the heat of the moment.dave's response was cartoonish. If he can shed 3 and a half stone for that fight I'll eat my hat....and what of talk of fighting Joshua and company???!

Haye accepts the challenge...but only at the heavyweight limit which he knows Bellew wont come up to. Just taking advantage of the challenge to keep his name in the press.

I'd say real fans understand this is just part 'n' parcel, so either have a wry chuckle at it or just ignore...

Yeah, perhaps, I'm just bored of it.

For no nonsense men, they surround themselves with a lot of nonsense.

There should be enough at Cruiser weight to keep Bellew in work, a unification bout with Lebedev being obviously top billing anywhere in the world but also Huck and Gassiev would give Bellew real difficulties.

If he was going to change weights going back down to light heavy would surely be a chance for him to put his name in the history books?

First up looks like it could be WBC champion-in-recess Grigory Drozd, who has said he'll be ready to fight again later on this year. Seeing as Drozd stopped Masternak (who took Bellew the distance) and beat that Polish fella as well whose name escapes me but looks like a bad hand in scrabble and was a previous IBF champion, that would be a real test of Bellew's claim to be the best Cruiserweight in the world. But I'd agree there are certainly plenty of really interesting fights at Cruiserweight now...

Some developments...:

that polish guy raised some eyebrows after sparking marco huck (which i din't see) and outpointing steve cunningham (which i did see),,, looks pretty solid but the one i've got my eye on is a ukranian guy called usyk. olympic and worlds gold medalist at amateur and as a pro he's 9-0 with 9 knockouts.

looks really good and i think i read somewhere the other day he is now mandatory for glowacki and his wbo title.

you might also remember that guy mairis breidis i posted up a month or 2 ago knocking manuel charr spark out.....he's looking great as well

with drozd/lebedev and the rest of them i think (unfortunately for bellew) this is as deep as i've ever seen the division

A lot of the recent PED situations revolve around how long these stay in the system after use. Surely the other more important questions is how long after the drug has left the system do the benefits last?

I'm no expert on PED's but i can see that someone who took PED's early on may be able to train harder and for longer so could still have some benefits once the drug has left the system.

Funny you should say that...I recall Bellew earlier this year saying that he thought Usyk was a cut above everyone else in the division!

Re: the Polish fella I was thinking of who Drozd beat...just looked him up and it was Krzysztof Wlodarczyk. So there's another one to add in the mix. Plus it will be interesting to see what Shumenov can do in the division as well, having been world champion at Light-Heavy. As you say, probably the strongest the division has ever been, but was just crying out for a proper character to bring a bit personality into the mix...cue one 'vocal' Scouser and the whole thing ignites!!!

Just found it...from late last year:

“Number one is Usyk and then we’re all at the same level, besides Ramirez.”

genuinely didn't know he'd said that!

i remember him beating beterbiev and pulev's little brother in London and thinking he was special. both of those guys came to the olympics with massive reputations.

You didn't know...and Bellew has clearly forgotten! hehe

Given Beterbiev is being widely tipped as the Light-Heavyweight challenger most likely to get in amongst Kovalev, Stevenson and Ward, having a victory over him really is nothing to be sniffed at...

Thank you for this Tusc, I've been trying to search or remember that guys name for the last few years. I remember watching him at the Olympics and thinking he looks a cracking prospect. Also one of the worst hairstyles I have ever seen.

Beterbiev was a massive scalp.....I know he's only had 10 or so pro fights but he looks terrifying so far...he's got that manic serial killer look to him.ruthlessly efficient...much as Usyk is actually...I bet Bellew wishes he hadn't published that now!!!

The usual talk? Does he really want it, when he can earn pots of cash with a Battle of Britain against Eubank jr?
