De La Hoya's put his shorts on inside-out...probably trying to save on laundry costs. I do the same with my pants; turn them inside-out and it doubles how long you can wear them between washes. Edited by Yiliterate on Sunday 31st July 22:43

Few more on the way but here's some new additions...

I thought you said on here about 6m ago that you were running out of space and the Mrs was putting the kybosh on more acquisitions...?! (Etc)

yeah, noticed that...the first thing i saw was de la hoya stood southpaw and then it twigged....i've seen it a fair bit over the years. it'swhere the negative plate has been flipped around before printing. sometimes intentionally for aesthetics....sometimes just an error at the printers. i wasn't going to get too anal about it as i bought it at a decent price so kept me gob shut!good result for frampton.....dubious scoring though.i had it a draw but could have understood it a round either way. framton first half, santa cruz second half.
warrington looked great, but tommy coyle was robbed of the win there. i thought going in nurse would wipe the floor with him but for me coyle ground it out and should have been a clear winner

you know, it's even easier if you just skip wearing skids altogetherEdited by Yiliterate on Sunday 31st July 22:43

I agree with Tommy Coyle being unlucky, you hate to see anyone lose a fight like that, Nurse has the skills though and showed he is tough. Josh Warrington disappointed me a bit, I thought he should have finished the guy a bit sooner, he was picking his shots well but the guy was there to be taken out from about round 4, I don't think Josh Warringont has a knock out punch, that's just my opinion as an armchair boxer obviously, likewise Dillian Whyte, I can's see Dillian getting back onto the world scene unless he starts knocking people like Dave Allen over in short time, 10 rounds of moving and jabbing against guys like that isn't going to impress anyone.
I won £40 on Frampton, woo hoo! Not got around to watching it yet though.
i think i have the honor of being the fiirst to mention his name in the 1st volume of this very thread

there is a fairly good crop of kids coming through at the moment, gavin and groves stand out for me.obscure one but keep your eyes peeled for a khazak kid called gennady golovkin.middleweight, glittering amateur carreer(olympic siver, worlds gold)beating a lot of current good pro names, and is 18-0 (15ko)in the pros.

He's certainly fulfilled his promise.
My favourite moment of his was the KO of Geale. He took one flush in the face as he was unleashing a left, yet he barely flinched and still connected hard enough to put Geale away.
It shouldn't have been physically possible to take a hit like that flush on the chin and not have it affect the punch you're throwing and also have enough power in it to drop a former champ like Geale.
Amazing.

If you want inspiration for little guys beating big guys look no further than mickey walker from the 20s and 30s....A welterweight champ who became middleweight champ then went up to light heavyweight and was robbed in a world title fight before beating a lot of good heavies only falling short at the very top.....but at the very end of a long career....These guys do exist!

It's how far the shots have to travel to spark someone. So much power generated in such short distances is phenomenal. Also those arcing downward hooks (like the one that sparked rubio)Shouldn't have that much weight behind them. He's a freak of nature that lad. ....and you haven't seen guys shift through to close the distance and transfer the power seamlessly from one side to the other since the days of jack dempsey. Lost arts in much the same way we'll never see the ring craft and slickness of archie Moore or ray Robinson ever againMy favourite moment of his was the KO of Geale.
