GGG is a remarkable boxer, of course, but the thing I find most striking about him is what a likeable and affable sort of bloke he seems to be, in the presser with Kell he seems genuinely smiley and happy to be in London, he's a real credit to himself and his family. Of course it's easier to be relaxed and happy when you've got the confidence of being such a talent but there's not many boxers you'd feel like you'd want to be stuck in a lift with - of course it may all be a carefully constructed act and he goes home to beat his wife, drink and kill kittens, but I doubt it.

Always smiling and polite rather acting the wannabe gangster like so many of his contemporaries. Never heard him bad mouth an opponent or brag about what round they are going to knock someone out. No shoving matches or throwing punches at weigh ins.

A credit to the sport.

Agreed

GGG is just the man boxing needed right now, the exact polar opposite of a certain Floyd Mayweather.
Hes smart, he can box or brawl, he knocks people out, hes humble and genuinely honest but best of all hes willing to fight anyone and is doing. There is also the added bonus he can read!

With all the news about Frampton and GGG vs. Brook, the KO punch that Adonis landed on Friday night seems to have slipped under the radar. Shot of the year so far for me, the perfect 6 inch punch.

Tusc:"It's how far the shots have to travel to spark someone. So much power generated in such short distances is phenomenal. Also those arcing downward hooks (like the one that sparked rubio)"

One of the best KO's I have seen IMO

Great shot, that. Such a shame a fighter as talented as Graham never got to hold a world title...

In terms of powerful short-distance punches, the Marciano KO of Jersey Joe Walcott is the very definition...punch estimated to have travelled all of 18 inches!!!

Incidentally, Julian Jackson's son was involved in an eerily similar KO, but this time it was Jackson who was on the receiving end, courtesy of a monster right hand from Andy Lee...

Adonis Stevenson is just being wed out by Al Haymon before he has to face someone like Artur Beterbiev, Ward or Kovalev. All three of those guys finish him off.

Not seen that before, right on the button.

Of course when it comes to big hooking you can't get better than this guy.

love it!...it does get tiresome pursuing only signatures and that fits the bill of something a little different.

as my recent obsession with mickey walker was in full swing i did actively try to find one of his paintings to buy(in his post boxing life he surprisingly had a level of success as an artist!!) as i thought that would be something a little different. couldn't find one for sale anywhere though...

That was a sweet hook.
But for me the most impressive aspect was Ali getting up from it.

Anyone showing an interest in the Olympic boxing? I've had a cheeky tenner on Joe Cordina for patriotic duties being a Welshy he is supremely talented though and would regularly be the bogeyman for a mate in the Welsh championships.

Looking forward to seeing Joe Joyce in the super heavies as it could be likely we have another top heavyweight turning pro after the games are done.

Bit of speculation on who we might see go pro post games? Joyce and maybe Muhammad Ali for me as that's another super heavy for the mix and a name that promoters aren't going to have any trouble promoting. Interestingly Eddie Hearn has made Cordina his pick for gold in the games so we could see Eddie chasing his post games and building a Welsh contingent to go with Lee Selby
