10seconds is not enough to get over being winded seriously or taking a big liver shot, the addition of broken ribs makes it even less comfortable. The body goes into some kind of severe shock response, being sparked out on the chin isn't pleasant and the effects can last but I'd take the risk over a well placed body shot any day. To be fair it's pretty rare you see a boxer get up and take an 8 count or whatever and go on to win the match whether it's head or body, but the body shot is searing pain and shock, the head is usually just a dull sort of dizzyness unless the nose explodes.

The clip of Matthew Macklin curled up in the fetal position after GGGs blow makes me wince every time I see it.

Whats the deal with Eubank Jnr? He seems to have dropped his belt. The press release is bizarre

Seems pretty straightforward - he's apparently injured his elbow so can't make the forthcoming defence of his Lonsdale belt. Rather than seek an exemption because of the injury, he's decided to vacate (supposedly so other fighters aren't denied the opportunity to contest the title and enhance their careers). Some may question the validity of the injury, some may say the stuff about choosing to vacate in the interests of his fellow pros is PR crap. Me? No idea... smile

Rumour is Warren has upset them by putting Eubanks (Allegedly) half brother on the under card, something Snr refutes...

I agree, I think. Hopkins laid out how Kovalev could be beaten, he's just a bit past it (possibly unfair coming from me like but you know what I mean). But Kovalev must be by far the biggest puncher Ward ever been in with.

What chance are you giving Crolla at the weekend? I think that crowd is worth 2 or 3 rounds for him and he's likely unbeatable now in front of them, I really hope he does it, and can go on to win other titles. Linores has moved upthrough the weights as well, is he a full sized Lightweight? I so hope he can do it.

obviously the topic of crolla/linares has been discussed quite a bit in the gym!....derry thinks( and i agree ) that crolla is probably the most improved fighter in britain over the last few years. his last few performances have been incredible and if you look at how patient he can be i feel that he can draw the sting out of linares over the first few rounds and capitalize on openings that he will leave after a tiring a bit. i don't see linares getting caught and dropped in the way he did against mitchell but rather getting worn down for either a points loss or late stoppage in favour of crolla in a hard fight

Kenny Rainford. I'm not sure whether I remember his name or not ...

Anyway, as an aside, I found this short YT clip ... this is the difference between a boxer and a streetfighter or someone who thinks they're 'ard' .... The guy had no business being in there ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcFzC26v48Y

He did fight one more bout though, knocked out by a guy who had a record of W17 L102. But who in fairness did share a ring with Tim Witherspoon and the late Trevor Berbick.

Oh I dunno...I quite liked him! Light on his feet, good hand-speed, aggressive 'come-forward' style...think he would have found favour with quite a few of the Vegas judges! Plus, who on here would be able to pull off the mullet/'tache combo that convincingly?!?!

what a fking lying, scheming, drug cheating scum bag. I said from the get go that he knew wlad would wreck him in a return and would wriggle out of the fight. He shouldn't even have the belts after the nandralone incident.

best bet now is to strip the and let someone else fight wladimir for them. Joshua would do it.let's get it on

Gotta be close to being made champion-in-recess or maybe even stripped. Be interesting to see who the WBA and WBO would name to fight for the vacant belts if that were to happen...

To be fair I don`t think that does show the difference between a street fighter and a boxer, that particular "street fighter" would struggle to beat a little girl, as for Fury, hopefully he is stripped of his titles.
