Haye thinks AJ will win quite easily.
I think it's more than Haye wants AJ to win, so he can throw his hat in the ring.

time catches up with everyone. there is no sadder sight than a 37 year old joe louis getting punched through the ropes by the young lion in rocky marciano. up to that point in the autumn of his career he'd still had enough in the tank for back to back wins against jersey joe walcott in '47 and '48...he then lost to ezzard charles before going on a good unbeaten run until he suddenly looked ancient against rocky...

louis and wlad are tied with the longest number of title defences in heavyweight history....wlad is 40 now and his last great performance was against pulev 2 years ago. he looked flat against jennings and frankly awful against fury. the big question is that is wlad finished?? or is it that he's had distractions out of the ring.?? i do believe he genuinely didn't give fury any chance of winning (and let's be honest, on the back of what fury had done before there was nothing to suggest he could win) and after a decade of turning back every challenger with consummate ease he probably did allow himself to slip.

the fury rematch will never happen now. there's still a big part of me that thinks he never intended to honor the rematch clause. when the fight was first announced my missus was resolute in us not getting tickets because there was no way the fight was going to happen anywhere at any point.

so, on to joshua.

wlad's camp manager david williams used to post on eastside boxing (under the name "chef") and posted regular camp updates during a fair few training camps.
joshua was out in austria with wlad for sparring for pulev.

according to williams joshua got bounced round the ring on day one and hit the canvas on a few occasions. but kept getting back up.
day 2 and he went over once.
by day 3 he was giving a very good account of himself and had wlad name checking him as a future world champion.

the story of this fight is how much has aj come on versus how much of the old wlad is still left.
we don't yet know how good joshua is but we do know how good wlad used to be.

for my money it's either joshua wins early(which i think is unlikely tbh)with his power..... or wlad wins middle/late by drawing the mistakes out of aj then putting his lights out. if he had the power to drop him numerous times in 14oz gloves and headguards then you know he can do it in the 10oz...

i think joshua's fairly slow footwork can undo his speed of punch and leave him exposed.

I think Campbell should win comfortably, but it is a potential banana skin.

My dislike of Bellew isn't exactly a secret on here, but he should also win comfortably.

Nice finish from Campbell. Crushing first body shot there.

Was just saying it's nice to see Campbell add a new dimension to his attack - have felt he's lacked a bit of variety until now...could be a great little offensive weapon for him, that...

Crushing body shot indeed. Not often you see a boxer completely floored like that frown

Meanwhile I'm not sure what more shocking, Jones nose condition or that knockdown!

Well done Bellew, good win. But...

That whole st at the end of the fight is EXACTLY why I dislike Bellew. He has absolutely no professionalism; he's just a fking chav.

He really wants to fight Haye, we all get that. Haye would absolutely ruin him though.

was it the first knockdown that did the damage?. I get the impression he doesn't like Haye

I think it was, but ultimately the outcome was always going to be the same.

He sets his sights on certain opponents and then sets out to be the biggest going. He is literally capable of little else.

I truly do need to edit this one. That was a truly awesome rant from Bellew, I was literally laughing out loud! He's gone up in my views, simply on that rant alone!

Loved it!!! The bit where he was highlighting the physical similarities with Haye then added the footnote 'I've got more fat on me and he's better looking' was just rofl
