Yes he certainly looks all 'geared up' for the fight
They're heavyweights - they all do it - especially the ones who are really cruiserweights!

Just a few weeks away now. Haye does look in excellent condition.
Is he still all vegetarian/vegan? Are his traps larger then they have been before or normal for him, as look huge.

Hearty congratulations to Ricky Hatton!!! It's been a rough few years for him since retiring from the ring but he's made it back to the top again as a trainer, with his fighter Zhanat Zhakiyanov (congratulations to him too!) claiming the main version of the WBA Bantamweight world title.

Really hope this gives the Hitman a platform from which he can build, both professionally and personally. Plus, some potentially intriguing fights to be made in the U.K. with Jamie McDonnell holding the regular version of that title, Lee Haskins the IBF version, Ryan Burnett likely to be challenging for a title at some stage this year and former champions Paul Butler and Stuart Hall looking to get back in the mix as well...

The vegan thing is odd, and I really struggle with his sample meal plan below and the gain in size he's maintaining. Luckily he has his own line of protein drinks.

In interviews he claims meat we eat is genetically modified along with the feed given to animals, but there's plenty of genetically modified crops out there. He also says he's leaner not eating animal fats.. all very strange.

The sample meal plan is grim.

so.....usyk has binned james ali bashir and hooked up with lomachenko's old man as trainer.

as if he wasn't good enough alreadybiggrin bashir is a good trainer don't get me wrong but i think this hook up spells disaster for the rest of the division.

Yeah I find it odd. The number times I hear "oh yeah just good genetics" rather than fessing up to juicing lol. I wonder if these guys realise human evolution takes millions of years.

Well a least we know how he keeps that constant flow of loose detritus coming from both ends...

I don't want to sound gay or owt... But his pecs have always been pretty amazing, almost unreal, that picture above with the over blown traps might be post some exercise or other but I'm not surprised he's had shoulder injuries if he's prepared to hit them that hard.

Hope he follows through unlike Mayweather who did the same and then ignored it.

Would it not make more sense to do it in the UK though? It would be a massive fight here although guessing UAE will have tax free perks.

If this wasn't in Sheffield I'd say it was a tough call for Kell, Errol Spence is a good boxer, but Kell loves the big events and he'll relish being in the middle of this in his home town, Errol on the other hand will not have known an atmosphere or an event quite like how this one will be - he'll have to be made of stone not to be effected.

Most interesting thing will be how easy it is for Kell to get back down to the weight, I hope he does it sensibly over time, in fact I hope he started when he got over the injuries from the Golovkin fight. I don't want to see him doing a crazy cut at the last and coming into the ring depleted.

This is the problem I foresee. Getting back down to 147 again is gonna be a slog after the comfort of middleweight.

I really loving reading the boxing thread, ( although never contributed before) but thought i would post regarding this topic.

I have been a veggie since i was 5, the only one in the family. Caused many a problem growing up in the 70's!! Why i'm a veggie i'm not sure, not against anyone eating meat. But just never have wanted to eat it myself. One thing i can tell you is i really easily put on muscle and can lose weight very easily. I'm 5'11 and 15st but carry no fat and don't train.

i take your points on board mate...that's applicable to you not training....but if you trained with anything like the intensity of a pro boxer you would more than likely hit a brick wall very quickly....it wouldn't take long before you ran out of steam. haye's explosive training footage shows me a guy that shouldn't be able to do what he does/look like he looks while not fueling his body in a manner most athletes would

Hmmm, I do believe you can get that big on a veggie diet, vegan's harder but there's plenty of non animal protein you can get into.

Steroids and stuff only help you recover faster they don't provide the basic proteins and amino acids and that you need to build muscle, you still have to get that from your diet.

That said I know fk all about all that, but I'd like to think there is someone in the heavyweight division not tripping balls on all sorts of chemical nasties.
