To me the Whyte match actually looked a bit fixed! The guy went down way too hard and way too easily.
Yep it did look a bit suspect, maybe he just didn't fancy it but that guy has been round with some names. You could be cynical about Prince whatshisface's corners investment portfolio as well.

berto.....fk me...........when you look at the available opponents it's shameful.

i've got a strange feeling that this won't be his last fight though. pretty sure the pacquiao rematch for fight 50 is gonna happen. it will break my fking heart to see marciano's record of 49-0 beaten but there it is.

He won't retire on 49-0, especially not on a walk through like this.

Thanks for the glove recommendation again, I wore them last night for the first time hitting Thai pads with a mate, they're awesome :-)

To be honest, although the focus and hype will be on the Marciano record, it's something that shouldn't be given all that much credence...Chavez snr had put 87 ticks in the win column before the first blemish on his record! 50-0?! Pah!!!

By the way, I'll send you a pm later...keep an eye open for it.

Disappointing but not really surprising.

Much better if he had given Keith Thurman or Kell Brook a chance; both unbeaten and would generate a lot more interest and money.

He would beat them both fairly easily mind

i think jimmy wilde had an incredible run back in and around the 1910s of about 100 contests.....

i think marciano's record as heavyweight champion won't ever be beaten. with the big boys it's a lot harder to stay unbeaten where one well placed punch turns your lights out!!

i watched an interesting documentary with interviews with rocky in australia just before his death. he actually WAS considering a comeback against ingemar johannsen and was in training for the fight when ingemar got knocked out in the return against floyd patterson. he was going to scrap camp and start training again but focus for floyd when he realized he just didn't have the appetite any more

Interesting; didn't know he'd considered a comeback. Shewd guy for figuring out that reaching 50-0 in itself was not a good reason to carry on fighting.

By the way, pm is screwed at the moment...I'll keep trying.

Deontay Wilder v Johann Duhaupas

Who?

Sooner or later he's going to have to defend that title against someone decent.

Bit late to the party on these but..

Ricardo Lopez retired about a decade ago having beaten Marciano's record with 52 fights, 51 wins and 1 draw. Obviously many other fighters went way past 50 fights undefeated before, eventually losing - e.g. J C Chavez.

W Klitschko is more like 6' 7" and his brother, 6' 8"

Lemieux can bang but doesn't seem to have the best chin. Happy to be shocked but GGG within 6 rounds easy.
