Sadly, it appears the Brook vs Bradley unification fight is off the cards, at least for this year frown

Instead, it now looks like Diego Chavez will be Brook's next defence. A step up from Jo Jo Dan and Frankie Gavin, but still not that top draw opponent that both he and we would like to see him facing...

Blimey - just seen that Marco Huck got beaten last week; means Johnny Nelson is still joint record holder (with Huck) for most Cruiserweight title defences...!

huck beaten, and also you need to youtube the mairis breidis knockout of manuel charr up at heavyweight over in russia last week....one of the most brutal knockouts i have seen in years. charr was knocked out in the fifth. he was unconscious while still vertical before falling flat on his face. it looked like he was dead. scary stuff

And the secret is...fcensoredk me, New York hotels are pricey!! Why did no-one warn me?!

By the way, that link was like something off kids' Saturday morning TV! All Kellerman needed was Gordon the Gopher sharing the desk with him...!

For those who haven't seen it:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwx51o99MQg

When I first saw it I thought it was the combo that did the damage...but on review it looks like he's already out when the left lands! What an upper-cut!

it was beautifully done....if you watch breidis's feet (hard i know when you know that upper cut is coming!!)...he draws charr backwards then to his left. back to his right .......then the clever bit....as charr is moving with him breidis squares up slightly to be able to drive that uppercut straight up the middle as charr is coming onto it. fantastic shot

Ouch, Charr's career looks like it's coming to an end! Was that fight at heavyweight or cruiser? Breidis is a cruiser, right? Because he's going to look proper tiny against the top heavyweights these days...

Just a quick one - just bumped into Barry and Shane McGuigan. Asked Barry about the Frampton-Quigg fight; he said negotiations were ongoing though difficult, but maybe there would be some news in the next couple of weeks. However, I didn't detect a huge amount of conviction when saying it...!

So just remember; if the fight gets signed, or if the fight doesn't get signed, you heard it here first! wink

For those with BT Sports, there's Leo Santa Cruz vs Abner Mares tonight. Wasn't overly impressed last time I saw Santa Cruz but still a match-up between to premium quality fighters...

Just seen the Lee-Saunders fight has been postponed again, this time due to Saunders getting a cut in sparring. I've read that Andy Lee might fight in October anyway to keep busy (given he's well into the training camp for the second time), with a Hungarian whose name escapes me touted as a potential opponent. He's ranked #5 by the WBO, so fulfilling their criteria for a credible challenger, and is ranked #148 by Boxrec, so fulfilling the requirement of not being any threat whatsoever!

Elsewhere, looks like Kell Brook will indeed be fighting Diego Chavez next. Underwhelming, but has the potential to be an exciting fight while it lasts...

Lee saunders is a bit of a blow . ....and kell Brook should be fighting better guys given his lofty status....

In other news my most recent aquisition....heading to the framers as we speak.

I'd have to build my own mancave to get away with the amount of memorabilia you have!

Anyone hear about what happened to Charr? Apprently he was gunned down last night in Essen. Some weird social media spat with a guy who called him a useless fighter and kept re-posting the footage of him being KO'd. Charr went to meet him for dinner to settle the matter in person and ended up being shot!

I think he's in a stable condition which is the main thing but the whole situation is bizarre.

i've just moved house......priorty one?? securing one of the bedrooms to be the memorabilia museum!!....i used to have all sorts in my boxing room at the old house but i kept buying stuff so gradually all the non-boxing stuff has been relegated to the garage....even books that are not boxing related have been given the boot...

i've got my eye on six more pieces then i really must lay off for a bit.i'm after a sugar ray robinson , tommy laughran , georges carpentier , max baer , barney ross and jersey joe walcott.....i think i'll be able to settle down after that...i'll have no more room for any more any way at that point i think!!

that's weird about charr....bit of a daft move meeting some loon who has been chastising you on twitter!!

Smooth move! I think I'm going to have to do something along the same sort of lines. She won't mind so long as she has a room filled with her own junk.

Well I've read a little more into it and it seems as though Charr knew the guy who has been giving him st and he is a boxer himself who belongs to a Lebanese criminal gang that operate out of Essen. Charr went to Essen and then posted his whereabouts on Twitter as if to say "Hey, here I am, come and find me!". Bonkers move if you ask me...
