"Baseball players are overpaid compared to NFL players".

Feel free to point out why that statement isn't true.

I asked first.

I have an answer to your question but not till you tell me why that statement isn't true.

Or is it that most sportspeople don't choose a sport because of the money?

As per my OP, the actual monetary amount is not the overriding factor.

So again, point out why that statement isn't true.

I'm embarrassed I've bothered to engage a troll for this long.

You're either a troll or the thickest person on this site. Take your pick. rolleyes

Much more likely to suffer an injury/injuries that will make life difficult in old age as a footballer than an F1 driver.
Possibility of life threatening injuries though?

People have died of massive heart attacks on football pitches, nobody's died in F1 for almost my entire lifetime (although I'd count Bianchi). F1 isn't very dangerous anymore, lots of motorsport is, of course.
Those were pre-existing heart conditions though so I would say they don't really count i.e. they weren't a direct result of football itself, it could have happened while they were doing any number of physical activities.

When was the last time a piece of another car hit and killed an F1 driver?
Massa came pretty close didn't he?

But anyways, this is something you have to factor in when choosing YOUR overpaid sport: potential frequency of injury vs injury severity. I know I'd rather suffer a lot of minor injuries than one major one.

I'll try and spell it out for you:

I never said sportspeople are paid based solely on those factors, I asked you to come up with a sport that is overpaid BASED ON THOSE FACTORS.

The original question mentioned risk, earning potential and skill. YOU keep trying to throw other factors into the mix that were neither mentioned nor have any bearing on the ones that were.

Market worth does not affect the time a baseball player spends actually playing baseball so, in the context of the question is irrelevant.
