Yesterday's result has helped move Stuart Broad to the top of the ICC bowling rankings for the first time.

Joe Root is number 2 in the batting ranking.

Fourth and final Test between England and South Africa today.

SA have won the toss and are batting first.

I've just glanced at the score for the first time today. Saffer's morning. Only another 14 sessions to go.

Another session to the Saffers. Fortunately I've been too busy working today to pay much attention.

Cor, bit slow in here consider we are two up in an away series to the "ahem" worlds best test side.....

Anyway, this has the stink of dead rubber syndrome all over it. Cook looks reasonably determined to get his 10,000 test runs and another hundred in the bag.

Hales experiment must be over now, we still need a bowler who is better than Woakes, a spinner who is better than Moeen and an opener who is better than Hales.

Compton worth sticking with. Taylor, Bairstow, Root, Stokes, Broad and Jimmy A have done pretty well this series

Mind you it is Sri Lanka next, so we probably can try a few new things

It might help if the glove work improved. Catches and matches and all that....

It took Stuart about 50 tests before he became a decent keeper. Bairstow deserves a decent run to learn his craft at the top level.

Long way to go though. this is day three, we haven't finished out first innings yet.

Draw looks most likely, anyway we could still bowl them out for under a 100 again and win it...

Too early to anick, but a 70 odd score from Stokes would be very helpful here. Ali needs to remember they ain't picking him for his bowling.

I'm afraid as an old fashioned sort, I look back to Jack Russel being the last truly skilled keeper. Foster & Read had brief turns and IMO one of them ought to have secured a permanent place.

We bat very deep at the moment. Everyone is fixated on Gilchrist hence Buttler and Bairstow. On flattish tracks, a pair of really good gloves that prevent any chances being lost might prevent a few matches being drawn or lost.
