You can manually add PB's under your profile also.
Yes - I changed it to race. For example I'm looking at some random woman on Strava who has put "First Half Marathon Ever" then when you click on her race achievements it says 10 miles PB; 20k PB; Half Marathon PB. The furthest I've ever ran before is 9 miles but I get none of these achievements showing. The only achievement I've got is a 2nd best 10k time. The other weird thing is it's awarded me a 1/2 marathon achievers badge when I signed up to the monthly challenge.

I manually added a 10k PB when Strava recorded a 10k race as 9.9k but it's futile doing this as it doesn't officially recognise the manual PB when issuing the achievements.

Here are some screenshots from Strava website which illustrate issue. 1) 1/2 marathon achievement badge; 2) confirmation of race time and distance imported from TomTom; 3) The one 10k achievement awarded; and 4) No record of 10 mile; 20k; Half Marathon achievements.

Balls to strava , what's your chip time?
Chip time is 2:13:20 - and my TomTom was only 15 seconds adrift from that.

OK - the only thing I can think of is that as it's the first time I've ran these distances it won't show as a PR. I'll see what it does next time.

No idea if relevant as I don't use Strava or anything, but I saw this today -

"I just called the toll free support number and was told by Suunto they are having a "maintenance window" and the synching between MovesCount and Strava will be another 24/48 hours. Meanwhile:

Here's a guide to manually export the move and upload it to Strava in FIT format.

To do this, follow instructions below.

1. Open the move in Movescount
2. Go to Export Move and select "Export as FIT"
3. Save the exported file to your desktop or anywhere that you can easily locate the file
4. Go to www.strava.com/dashboard
5. Click on "+" (upper right corner of the webpage)
6. Select "File" (left column) and click "Browse"
7. Choose the FIT file that you exported from Movescount"

Thanks Andy. The data has been imported into Strava okay - it just seems to have recalculated my distance (Strava uses its own algorithms I believe) different to everyone else and awarded me fewer achievements.

Ran Reading Half yesterday and very happy with a 1:52:58. I ran last years in a 2:20 so always new I would beat that time, but was keen to dip under the 2hr mark.

Been working with a running coach which has really improved my times, and the negative spilt plan worked well.

My Garmin Forerunner 235 exports immediately after a race to Strava, the distance on Strava is always shorter (even on a simple loop such as the Castle Combe Circuit 10k). I had a Tom Tom Spark before and the difference from the same data was much, much bigger still. I guess Strava smooth the data more.

Strava also seems to reduce running time a bit, heartbreaking when you've done an evil trail race and have been going so slow up a hill at times that it doesn't register!

I see that Strava have added running to their Fitness and Freshness report for premium members - basically gives you a view of how your fitness level, fatigue and form changes over time and with training load.

Mine is currently showing me how unfit I have become after a 5 week absence from running due to injury frown

Did my first ever half marathon at Reading today and my TomTom records the distance as 13.21 miles. Strava has changed the distance to 13.0 miles and not recorded the race as a half marathon in terms of PB. Very very irritating given everyone else who has been matched to my run has a distance of 13.1 or higher recorded!

Indeed, I'd only ever put a chip time in!

GPS pb's never count!!

Been studiously ignoring this thread due to zero mojo, illness, and general laziness. Finally got back out for Llanelli parkrun and with 28 days of no running, popped in a buggy push PB of 23.04. Sub 23 was on until I realised I had to take a 90 degree left 30 yards before the finish and I probably wanted my boy to be in the buggy come the finish line...

Time to get back on it. Hope everyone had a good weekend's running.

i'm planning on doing langdale again this year - any other PHs going?

i've done the marathon twice now and had to walk the last few miles both times, so this year i'm really going to get the hill work in and try and finish strong. it's such a beautiful run - hard, but lovely hehe

I've got a deferred entry for the half from last year (dropped out through injury, came along for a weekend away and cheered people on instead) so looking forward to it this year.

thumbup - excellent. see you there!

i'm just getting over a calf strain, but as it's the end of Oct this year, it's more than enough time to get some decent hill work in.

thinking i'll take my Camelbak though, as i don't think there's enough watering stops on the way, plus it'll allow me to take some things to eat.

My calf is a bit tight at the moment. So going to rest it for a few days.

Is it worth getting a deep tissue massage as need to fit and strong in 4 weeks.

If anyone wants a challenge I've got one for you. Just recovering from the Jurassic Coast Challenge - 3 "marathons" in 3 days on the Dorset coast. Toughest thing I have ever attempted but at the same time one of the most beautiful.

Weather conditions were near perfect - sunshine and not too much wind (at least not most of he time). Great camaraderie with the other runners particularly on the last day and the 2 mile finish on the beach at Sandbanks.

Well done , one of the guys from out club did it to.

His game plan was to run a 6 hour marathon each day and pace himself but he said day 3 was just a case of moving forwards whatever the speed.

I would focus on stretching not just your calf, but your IT band, hip flexors and all other leg muscles first. A massage can help, but if you've not had a massage before, then they will not do deep tissue on the first time (at least they should not) It's a tricky one as any massage person will say they can help to get the business, but I would ask a friendly one for advice prior to a massage if you can
