Currently wearing a pair very similar to the below (different colour scheme however). Most comfortable shoes I've ever had, golf or otherwise.

Got myself a new toy last week - a Nike Engage wedge. My old wedges were getting a bit worn, so thought I'd start to freshen them up.

For those who haven't seen the range, they offer 3 different configurations:
Square Sole - for full shots
Dual Sole - the jack of all trades
Toe Sweep - Designed for bunkers, heavy rough and general Mickelson shenanigans.
I went for a 58 degree Toe Sweep model for now to try them out - first impressions are excellent, sits nicely behind the ball, and really helps you slide the club under the ball out of the sand. Needs to be hit a bit harder than my old 56 degree, but the check it produces on the green is impressive.
Just had some vouchers through for American golf too, so it will soon be off to get the 54 degree to go with it. That's more for shots 50-80 yeards out, so will have the Square Sole for that one. Then maybe get a 50 degree to replace my PW (current PW is 49 degree).

They do look nice. Out of interest, which wedges did you have before? I'm after a 52 and so far have only looked as far as the trusty SM5 Vokeys.http://www.americangolf.co.uk/golf-clubs/wedges/ni...

The 58 I bought replaced a Nike SV wedge I bought about 8 years ago - I had Vokeys before that, and the Nike feels very similar, although I could get more check with the Nikes than I could the Vokeys. Although I must admit, apart from the old TayloreMade RAC's, I haven't noticed too much difference between the various wedges I've tried....

The new ones always feel better (because they're new). Whether they are actually better is hard to tell, because it is so long since your old ones were new that you can't remember.

Changing wedges is like changing tyres isn't it?

If only i could convince my Mrs i need new wedges as often as she needs tyres. I'd be onto a winner! The new ones always feel better (because they're new). Whether they are actually better is hard to tell, because it is so long since your old ones were new that you can't remember.

I have Captains Day on Sunday, and it'll be my first game in 3 weeks.
After my embarrassing display in the knock out at the beginning of the month I haven't been back
I can beat that. Shot +3 in the first round of the club champs 2 weekends ago, followed by a +10 round the next day. Went to practice friday week just gone to see what was going on. Shanked a full basket of balls. Got into the car and pulled out of playing sat & sun as I didn't fancy punishing myself all weekend. After my embarrassing display in the knock out at the beginning of the month I haven't been back
Been to the range twice since. Not a single shank. Don't you just love golf!

Think I needed a break. I've got a few comps in the coming weeks then we're away for 3 weeks. When we're back I'll have a lesson and get some serious practice in, but at the moment I just don't have the time.
