Smashing card that, very good approach shots or great putting, or both!
Cheers. A mixture of both really. I have a lot of 1 putts because when I miss greens it trends to be by a fairly small margin, which brings in chipping which I'm pretty good at. I get up and down a lot. 2 sand saves too. I forgot to put it on there, but I was in 2 bunkers on the 8th and still made par.
Short game, short game, short game! It's so important.

Can't even find it in the App Store! Did two searches in case it was case sensitive on the G.
Update: found, it, it's now Golfshot Plus and needs IOS8 so that's me out.

Ha yes except the only one I would tolerate would be an iPhone SE (for its size) and they're £400 plus, even second hand.
Well, if a 4" phone is at large as you want to go, after the SE is gone, I don't think you'll have much to upgrade to. As far as I know the Motorola Moto E is the smallest smart phone around these days, and that's 4.5". The Moto E is a seriously good piece of kit for the money though.

On a Ryder Cup note, Westwood's putting
Despite the result thought that was a cracking Ryder Cup. Some of the golf last night was absolutely scintillating - Lefty with 10 birdies and only getting a half against Garcia, Reed and McIlroy going at it hammer and tongs, and great rookie performances from Cabrerra-Bello, Pieters, Koepka and Moore. Think the US team were just a bit too strong for us, but bodes well for Paris in 2018.
And on that normal golf we play I had an absolute shocker in the medal, 4 putting the first 2 greens They hoolow-tined them around a month ago, but sadly they still haven't recovered properly - they were running OK the night before, but the dew and the morning rain made them an absolute lottery. People who "hit" putts rather than stroke them were getting on OK, so I struggled. Ended up signing for a very wet and miserable 92, so that's me back up to 8.5.
Last comp of the year next weekend, our Medal Winners Medal. Think I'll be getting the winter putter out for that one.

Cracking weekend of golf to watch. Shame about the result.
Played here on Friday:

Lovely course in stunning condition - but tough. Very narrow. Limped in with a very poor score.
How many people use a GPS watch here?
Using the apps on the phone is all well and good but I'm finding myself getting it out less and less as it's a bit of pain.
Seem to see more and more people using one. but don't want to blow the budget.
Garmin & Tom Tom seem to come well recommended...
Anyone use the original Tom Tom Golf rather than the newer 2?
Friend has a Garmin S20 and seems to like it.
Any other suggestions?

I have a Garmin S5 and it's excellent. I definitely wouldn't be without one.
I'm actually selling it as I have the new Apple Watch now so will use that (no point in having 2 GPS watches!).
I think I've sold it to a guy at the golf club but if he pulls out I'll let you know. I'd like £125.00 for it.

I've got a Garmin approach S2 which is very basic but gives nice clear distance readings to the front / middle and back of the green. As a fairly novice player it's always nice to take a judgement on distance and then check the watch and see how accurate I'm being.
It's also real quick to tap in your score as you go but the software (Garmin Connect) isn't great and the app is dire since it was updated.

Mark Crossfield does pretty good club review videos. Mizuno JPX Range is for higher handicappers.
The only-just-released JPX900 Tour most definitely blurs the line between Mizuno's 'game improving' and bladed irons.Have to say they look like a blade, feel like a blade, have blade like workability, but they have an amount of forgiveness not normally associated with blades.

Edit: I've just see the price!!

Depends what's right for you.FWIW, the heads are very small and have a razor sharp top edge. Looking down at address, you'd think they were pure blades. Some people like that, others might prefer a little more 'substance' to the head.
Choosing any golf club has to start with you setting a club down and deciding whether it looks right for you. If it does, include that head with two or three others when you set up a custom fitting session.
As I mentioned above, I was fitted once on a range by a club pro and again in a booth at American Golf - whilst I preferred the range for hitting balls (because I could focus on something to aim at in the distance and see the flight of the ball), the [free] AG fitting was the more comprehensive of the two with a much wider range of shafts & grips to choose from.

Double trade-in from AG helped soften that blow a little - they offered me ~£150 for a 17 year old set of Pings.Gassing Station | Sports | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
