Ok, I'm in!
TM SLDR driver 10.5 Fuji wotsit boggo stiff shaft (year before lasts Xmas pressie, nice one Deb!)
TM M1 3 wood, another Fuji boggo stiff (this years Xmas pressie, nice one again Deb!)
Titleist 816 hybrid 19 & 23 deg, diamana white stiff (an upgrade from the 909s to kick off this season)
Titleist 714CB, DG S300 (had em 2 years, going good)
Vokey SM5 52 & 56, standard wedge flex (blew some pro shop vouchers, best wedges by miles)
Scotty fastback 1 studio select for the win (long term, and a keeper)

Weird how different people have different brand preferences. Dunno why but I've only ever had TM, Titleist or mizuno gear, and when I'm after something new I look straight past Nike, callaway, and ping. Haven't got a clue why and not knocking them, just don't seem to appeal. Well, having said that, the ping thing is from when I started, a mate had a set of their irons, couldn't tell you what they were but they were the most plug ugly clubs I'd ever seen!! As they say, half the battle is if the club looks right to your eye.

Stableford qualifier on Saturday, gotta try n have a straight day!!

How much roughly to reshaft a G25 hybrid.

Currently fitted with stiff shafts - i'd like standard at the very least.

Don't have to be ping shafts - happy to look at other options.

Secondhand Ping Eye2s £125
Secondhand Cobra wedge £20
Secondhand Ping Gorge wedge £25
Secondhand Odyssey White Hot putter £45
Cobra 5 wood (prize at a golf day about 10 years ago, brilliant little thing)
The only club bought new is a 2004 Cobra 9.0 driver. Can't remember how much I paid but well under £200.
Groove sharpener £4.
On its day this kit seems to work OK.

Old good stuff, as long as the grips and grooves are ok, is at least as good as mediocre new stuff, I think.

I don't think there's any real progress left in irons technology any more, just shuffling bits around and making a big fuss about it.

I have been wondering about new clubs, and I am interested in the same-length irons, but have been having the same suspicion that I wouldn't really benefit all that massively from a new set. I guess Nike came out of the club business because of people like me!

Not posted in this topic for a while having not played for a few months. Hoping to get back out on the 19th November...

Still, my WITB

9.5 Deg SLDR agila Stiff shaft
TM Burner 3 wood 15 degree agila stiff shaft
Wilson Staff FG tour irons 4-PW with S300 shafts
Vokey SM5 wedges 56 & 60 degree
Odyssey White Hot #9 putter
Usually play Srixon AD333 tour balls but not a clue what i've got in my bag at the moment.
All wrapped with Golf Pride MultiCompound Plus4 Grips in Silver/Red that i put on this spring, much prefer these to the lamkin crosslines i used previously.

I have the Crosslines on my irons at the moment - love them, but will need replacing over winter. Only real issue I have with them if it gets wet, they lose all grip very quickly, so am thinking about moving to MCC's as well.

Already have them on my woods with 3 extra wraps of tape on the right hand - very tempted to extend to the irons, but the Crosslines feel so good in the dry.

Decisions decisions.

As Rosscow says, they are excellent. I wouldn't dream of going back now, still get good feedback whilst being even tackier than the Crosslines.

If you know what shaft you want, buy it on eBay and do it yourself. I've done it with my hybrids and 3 wood and its a doddle.

I didn't actually buy from Wentworth - my local pro ordered direct from Tailor-made, so I get the exact same specs much more cheaply, and he took my old clubs back in part exchange!

You must muscle the ball a bit. PX 6.5 is no joke. I got fitted for PX 6.0 and hated them on the course. Such a dull feeling shaft in my hands. With a heathly SS of 93mph (6iron) even 6.0 felt too stiff. You must be pushing 110mph. BEAST!

110 with a 6 iron? No chance!

Don't know what it is tbh but if I step on a driver it's ~ 118, course swing is 114 ish, maybe a little higher with a cut swing.

6.5s just work for me, had them in last 3 sets.

My scratch partner has 7.0, he's a freak though!
